Fourth "re-birthday"
on May 13, 2008 7:00 am
This year marked a milestone for me.  I lost 100 pounds and kept off 85, but it was a struggle.  I started in January on a mission to get back in control of my weight loss and my life.  Over the course of the last 5 months I managed to lose 6 1/2 pounds and 6 inches, but the biggest thing I did was decide to have the pinniculectomy.  Last Friday I went back to Grand Rapids and had a circumferential abdominoplasty.  Someone asked me who I was doing it for, and just like when I decided to have my gastric bypass I said I had it for ME.  I think the most important part of this whole process is that I have done it all for me, and not for someone else.  I didn't have a tummy-tuck to please my husband, or so anyone else would notice me, I did it because I have worked so hard to lose the weight, I deserved to have the skin removed.  The same way with the surgery, I had struggled with my weight for so many years, I had the surgery so I could concentrate on living for a change.  Whenever I get down, and start having a pitty party, I just have to remember why I did this, and know that I am in exactly the place I am supposed to be for me.  I'm so grateful to all of the others who went before me, and I am always the biggest cheerleader to anyone who needs support.  I love my new life, and am grateful for the opportunity God gave me to have a second chance at it.
Be well, be blessed, and I hope everyone on this journey with me finds the serenity I have.
