Wednesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ JudyAnne

Hi , I had intestinal bypass surgery 5 years ago, no weight loss ,with a butcher surgeon, no weight loss, no aftercare , and no follow up with a surgical procedure that I only found out much later was banned in the States 15 years ago as it was deemed to be barbaric.

Be that as it  may I now weigh more than I ever did, and have health problems caused by the surgery.I have to have a revision done , and the RNY 3 months later.

On entering OH I did not think it was worth the effort, but since recieving all the support I will go for it. Thanks.

My Story

Hello all you brave people!

Do you think the world  has a clue what you and I are willing to go through to be acceptable in their eyes.

I think each and every person who goes for weightloss surgery needs to recieve some form of recognition.

I have nothing to add yo the 100's of stories and profiles I have looked at in the last few months. I thank God for this web .At least you don't feel so alone when you see others go through the same feelings of uselesness, depression and self hate.

Knowing there are others that also break into a cold sweat when they have a bussines lunch and dont know if their butts will fit into the chairs gives me some form of perverse comfort. I always thought I was the only one.

THANKS TO YOU NOEL, I AM GOING TO UPDATE MY BLOG TODAY.-THANKS FOR THE PUSH.
AFTER EVERYTHING, I HAD MY SURG ON 18 APROL 2007 TOTALLY IN DR'S HANDS FOR HIM TO DECIDE WHICH PROCEDURE HE WOULD DO ONCE HE WAS INSIDE. DUE TO THE PREVIOUS MESS  A 1HOUR OPP TOOK 4.5 HOURS , AND HAD MY WIFE HISTERICAL WITH WORRY.

AT LEAST I ENDED UP HAVING A RNY DONE, SO THE CHANCES OF GREATER WEIGHTLOSS IS BETTER.
I HAD A TORRID TIME FOR THE 1ST 2 MONTHS AFTER SURGERY--PASSING OUT WHEN I WANTED TO GET UP , AND BEING TO EXHAUSTED TO WALK OR DO ANYTHING FOR ABOUT THE 1ST 3 MONTHS--THE 1ST 2 MONTHS I PRACTICALLY SPENT IN BED AS I WANTED TO PASS OUT WHEN I WAS UP.

I NEVER WANT TO SEE PROTIEN SHAKES AGAIN---DURING THE 2ND MONTH JUST THE SMELL OF IT MADE ME THROUGH UP.
HAD A ULCER FORM IN JUST ABOUT HALF OF THE NEW TUMMY ---NO REAL DISCOMFORT, BUT COULD CAUSE A PROBLEM LATER ON. ON MEDS FOR IT AND SWALLOWING THE CAMERA ONCE A MONTH TO CHECK THE PROGRESS.

TO DATE I HAVE LOST 135 POUNDS FOR WHICH I AM VERY GRATEFULL--IT IS NOW SHOWING AND EVEN I CAN SEE THINGS ARE CHANGING--STILL BIG AS A HOUSE, BUT NO LONGER A DOUBLE STOREY.

TO ALL OF YOU WHO ARE CONTEMPLATING SURGERY---MAKE SURE YOU INVEST IN A GOOD SHRINK WHO HAS KNOWLEDGE OF THE INNER WORKINGS OF A FAT PERSONS MIND---YES WE ARE DIFFERENT---AND KNOW THAT THIS WILL NOT BE A WALK IN THE PARK. MENTALLY AND WHICHEVER OTHER ''ALLY '' YOU CAN THINK OF THIS IS TAXING. BUT, IT IS VERY REWARDING ONCE YOI HAVE TRAVERSED THE INITIAL HURDLES.

A WORD OF ADVICE---IF THOSE AROUND U DON'T SUPPORT YOU, FIND PEOPLE WHO WILL, AND TO ALL THE LADIES !!!! IF YOU ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP WHERE YOU ARE NOT RESPECTED , LOVED AND HONOURED FOR THE SACRIFICES YOU ARE MAKING TO BE HEALTHY ACCEPTABLE ETC , GET OUT ---LEAVE AND FIND THE LOVE YOU DESERVE.

THERE IS NO WAY A OBESE PERSON CAN DO THIS WITHOUT SURGICAL INTERVENTION---THIS IS A DESEASE YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGHT ALL YOUR LIFE, BUT AT LEAST THIS GIVES YOU A FIGHTING CHANCE, AND YOU NEED A CORNER WHO IS ROOTING FOR YOU TO SUCCEED OR YOU WILL FAIL.---REJECTION AND DEPRESSION WILL LEAD YOU BACK INTO THE CYCLE OF EATING FOR COMFORT.

BE GOOD TO YOURSELF---LOVE THOSE WHO LOVE YOU --AND LIVE YOUR NEW LIFE WITH GUSTO.

LOVE TO ALL.

ME.

10/18/2006.

I had small intestine  bypass surgery 2001, and have lost know weight in 5 years.I am having a revision done in November, and I am scheduled for RNY surgery in February 2007. Hopefully I will then become part of the losing society and will also be able to hang out my tongue to all the mean ugly people out there.

This is realy my last chance at making a diff to my and my wife's future, or at least being part of it.

So if you happen to read this by chance, would you mind saying a prayer for me  for the 2 surgery's I have to have , and would u plead with God that he would grant me the mercy, of one day being thin as to enjoy life as he had intended for me.

I thank you for taking the time.

God bless .

01/11/2006.

Well, had my visit with the endicronologist yesterday, and she had a interview with my wife.Whether that improved things I am not sure yet, but we now have final approval for my revision for monday 06/11/2006.

She says she is very comfortable that I will be fine with having both operations, and does not think that I have much options, as she told my wife, that if I dont have the RNY in Feb 2007 I wont last another 10 years.

Comforting news, dont you think?. Anyway, here we go revision Monday, POOping my Brooks, but now in God's hands.

Will update after revision. Please keep me in your prayers.

Ciao for now.

02/11/2006.

Dr postponed my revision surgery because I have flu.GOD has a plan for my life , but I am not sure why this is now happening, I have not had flu all winter, NOW in the middle of summer 4 days before surgery I get the flu.

Well, so be it! Talk again when I have my new date.

Bye.

09/11/2006.

could be fit in in January. I nearly passed out, I can not wait till then for revision ,then I will only have Rny in May 2007.

My mind will have done me in long ago by then, anyway after a lot of grovelling and begging I got a date for 22/11/06.AMEN.

CIAO FOR NOW.

Can you believe it? Just when I thought I had beaten the flu bug I get the Tymmy bug which puts me back in bed for 3 day's ,if I am not on the toilel that is.

7 day's to go to Revision Surgery, and I am still in a war to be healthy enough for the opp.

Not for us to ask why, but only to do and LIVE!

Catch U closer to D day.

11/28/2006.

I,m Alive!

Had revision on 22 nd, Dr says previous surgeon made a real mess with me closing up, and I have staccks of growths in my tummy now from the shrapnel of the previous opp, which will make the RNY procedure difficult for him, but he is willing to do it.

As for the revision, it,s already worth it just to be rid of the deathly odour of doing the toilet, with the constant diarhee I use to have. I am on a fluid diet now for close on 8 weeks till 23/Jan 2007 when I have to see dietician.Struggling with the concept, but the DR made it clear to me that the revision was a delicate procedure, and that the intestine can take no pressure for a while.

I guess I will lose some weight in te interim though to get me closer to the 440 pds he wants before RNY.Currently 484 pds.

Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes, it has made a great difference in my attitude towards the surgery and the fear I had of dying.

You have all been great, THANKYOU from Me and Mandy.

02/04/2007 .

Geez haven't been here for a while.

Anyway , Update: After my revision and the fluid diet I started picking up weight like crazy, with everything being back to normalmy body , which was very alarming. I was not sticking to any eating plan though, but the gain has been unatural. I also now retain water since the revision.

Be that as it may, I saw the surgeon 01/25/2007 and he was happy with the revision. He however told me he is not willing to do a RNY  as I have to many growths in my abdomen from the previous surgery. He is willing to try a VSG procedure though.

I was very sad about this as I have been preparing for the RNY for thepast 6 months , and now have to start on a new road for a procedure I am not is as good as the RNY.

I have been on the VSG web for a week straight now now, and feel more at ease.

My surgery date is 18 april.

Please spare a prayer for me that i will be able to stick to this diet. The DR said if I do not meet his WL requiements he will not do surgery.

God Bless.

Deon

02/21/2007.

Hello all,

Well 2 weeks down my pre op diet, it is really going chitty.I just can not stick to this damn eating plan.

Thanks to the VSG message board, and the wonderfully supportive people on it I am not flogging myself so badly for not being able to stick to it.

I honestly don't know what I would have done without the OH web site .

I would truly have  given up even before having the revision.

Thankyou so much to all of you who take the time out to reply to a message or give an encouraging word to us who need one.

You are truly a gift from God.

So 18 pounds down in 2 weeks, 8 weeks to go to surgery, Whoopeee!!!

If you believe in prayer, please include me in your prayers, for me to at least be able to lose 50 pds plus by the date of my surgery.

Thanks again for everything.

Deon.

03/18/2007.

HELLO GANG!

HAD PRE -OPP TESTS  DONE ON THE 14TH AND 15TH WITH MORE NONSENSE SHOWING UP

1.I HAVE AN ENLARGED LIVER.

2.I HAVE ULCERS ON MY USOPHAGUS.

3.I HAVE A HITUS HERNIA.

4.AND NUMEROUS GROWTHS ON MY ORGANS FROM THE INTESTINES , DUE TO THE PREVIOUS DR NOT CLEANING UP HIS MESS PROPERLY BEFORE CLOSING ME UP.

THE SURGEON SAYS HE WILL ATTEMPT THE SURG , BUT I HAVE TO GIVE HIM CARTE BLANCHE ONCE HE IS INSIDE TO DO WHATEVER PROCEDURE HE FEELS HE CAN DO WITHOUT ENDANGERING MY LIFE .

SO AT THIS POINT I DON'T KNOW WHETHER HE IS GONNA DO A BAND, RNY, VSG, DS OR ANYTHING ELSE.OH WELL SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING --RIGHT?

I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT TO MUCH AS I WILL JUST START STRESSING.

HAVE TO START PUREE FOR 2 WEEKS ON MONDAY, AND THE 2 WEEKS CLEAR FLUID UNTILL THE SURGERY.---------TALL ORDER!!!!!

BUT WITH YOUR HELP, AND GOD ON MY SIDE , I WILL GET THROUGH IT.

TALK TO YOU AGAIN SOON.

31 DAYS TO GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
