My Story

Hello Obesity Help Members,

I started my journey here with OH probably 4 years ago and it ended in disappointment. I have struggled with my weight for over half my life and have tried a number of failed yo-yo diets. My struggle with weight started shortly after entering high school and experiencing the normal peer pressure of having to maintain a slim waist line to be like the other girls. Unfortunately for me the exact opposite happened and I began picking up weight rapidly. I have tried diet pills and  what I believe were vitamin B shots from a medical doctor. My PCP sent me to one of the best hospitals in IL. for a supervised diet plan and they were going to prepare me for surgery then my employer changed our insurance plan from Humana to Unicare and they didn't cover weightloss care period.  I have done the low carb diet, Metabolite pills, Trimspa diet pills, some other weightloss pills that made me jittery and sped up my heart rate, Herbal Fat Grabbers, and my latest weight lost attempt cost me $715 dollars with LA Weightloss.

Just When I was begining to make progress they closed their doors forever in January of 2008. I had only been with the program since September of 2007. To make matters worse I have been diagnosed with hypertension and I have PCOS. I have had to have surgery due to my PCOS and I'm afraid that I may need to have another one but I'm praying that I don't. I am a newlywed but my husband and I were together 6 years before deciding to get married. With the complications of PCOS I have not been able to get pregnant and the weight is certainly a factor as well. My goal is to lose the weight so that I can stop taking high blood pressure medication, stop suffering from edema, and be able to give my husband a child. Most importantly I want to live a healthy fulfilling life for me. I am sure that there are a number of women here with stories similar to mine and I'm hoping to find a friend or two here that can discuss their story with me so that we may support one another on our journey. Thank you for stopping by my page and God Bless you.
