Surgeon Testimonial

Brian S. Boe, M.D.
My first impression at the initial consult w/Dr Boe was that he was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the different aspects of weight loss surgery.rnrnOver time I have also found Dr Boe very personable and a caring surgeon who will spend as much time with you as needed to answer questions and discuss things that are happening with your WLS and body.rnrnThe staff at Barix is TOP NOTCH.rnrnFuture patients should not hesitate to ask lots of questions - he will gladly and patiently answer all of them.rnrnDr Boe is very intune with after care and follow up visits. Barix has an excellent program for post-op patients.rnrnI would rate Dr Boe and his staff at 110%. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are excellent.

One Month Out
on March 18, 2008 6:21 am
Today is my one month 'surgiversary' and all things considered I'm doing pretty well. Had a back issue come up the other week that really bothered me for a few days - Dr Boe said it is surgery related due to weakened stomach muscles. Also had my first 'dump' around that time from taking liquid Tylenol - BLECH!! Don't need that to happen again.

At my first post-op appointment I had lost 17 lbs from date of surgery til then - that was one pound a day - WOO-HOO! My 6 week appt is April 3. I did weigh myself on a scale here at work but I know its wrong so I won't do that anymore. I'll just wait until I'm on the scale at Barix and go from there.

My face is much thinner and I know I'm losing a lot of weight - clothes are starting to hang on me and things that haven't fit in years are fitting now.

My only concern is getting my required proteins in every day - food is not going down very easily so I'm trying ot keep up with the protein thru shakes. I wish I could eat, but for some reason I can't. I guess it'll happen along the way.
