Surgeon Testimonial

Brian S. Boe, M.D.
My first impression at the initial consult w/Dr Boe was that he was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the different aspects of weight loss surgery.rnrnOver time I have also found Dr Boe very personable and a caring surgeon who will spend as much time with you as needed to answer questions and discuss things that are happening with your WLS and body.rnrnThe staff at Barix is TOP NOTCH.rnrnFuture patients should not hesitate to ask lots of questions - he will gladly and patiently answer all of them.rnrnDr Boe is very intune with after care and follow up visits. Barix has an excellent program for post-op patients.rnrnI would rate Dr Boe and his staff at 110%. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are excellent.

Good luck and know we are just a stone's throw away if you need anything. Us Garnet Valley folks have to stick together! Debi

6 Month Surgiversary
on August 18, 2008 6:44 am
Today is my 6 month surgiversary! I didn't weigh myself this morning and I should have, but I'm going to Barix for my appt with Dr Boe and they'll weigh me then.

I can't believe 6 months has gone by already - now all those terrible times right after surgery are a distant memory. I rarely get foamies anymore - if I overeat my pouch gets very angry and let's me know it. I am eating healthier - I am exercising (finally) and I am feeling 150% better.

Sometimes I think my weight isn't coming off as quickly as it should but as long as its still coming off I guess its okay. I know I'm eating more now and exercising so both of those things will contribute to a slight slow-down. I hope Dr Boe is pleased when he sees me, but more importantly I need to be pleased with my progress.

I still don't see the huge changes everyone keeps telling me I've made - or look like. I still see fat ugly legs, flappy arms and a soft wrinkly belly - I guess some of those things will never change. But I do know I'm wearing much smaller clothing now - I'm doing more than I have in years and loving every moment of it.

So hopefully I'll have good numbers on that scale Wednesday!!
