Surgeon Testimonial

Brian S. Boe, M.D.
My first impression at the initial consult w/Dr Boe was that he was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the different aspects of weight loss surgery.rnrnOver time I have also found Dr Boe very personable and a caring surgeon who will spend as much time with you as needed to answer questions and discuss things that are happening with your WLS and body.rnrnThe staff at Barix is TOP NOTCH.rnrnFuture patients should not hesitate to ask lots of questions - he will gladly and patiently answer all of them.rnrnDr Boe is very intune with after care and follow up visits. Barix has an excellent program for post-op patients.rnrnI would rate Dr Boe and his staff at 110%. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are excellent.

Good luck and know we are just a stone's throw away if you need anything. Us Garnet Valley folks have to stick together! Debi

Approved and Have My Date!
posted on 1/21/08 6:18 am
The insurance approval process didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would, even tho I received a letter stating they needed additional info from the doctor(s). I guess they all came thru, because when I called to check on something on January 15 I was informed that I had been approved that day!

Friday, January 18th I got the call from Eileen at Barix setting my PAT's and my surgery date - PAT's are 1/23 and surgery is 2/4 - WOW!

I had lost 30 lbs up until I got sick in December and I know I've gained some back, but I imagine I'll be put on a liquid diet to get some more weight off prior to surgery - finally made it back to the gym, too. Bronchitis for 3 weeks was nasty stuff, then mom with pnemonia and back problems - one thing after another.

I'm nervous, scared, excited - so many emotions - but I'm so ready to begin my new life. I'm so tired of being fat - I'm so tired of avoiding social situations because of how I look and feel, and fear of not fitting into seats or whatever. I am so ready to be rid of the pain in my knees and feet, and to just generally feel better and have more energy.

So February 4 will be my re-birth date if all goes well!
