Hello I'am 37yrs old a Toll Collector for the Florida Turnpike. I have been over weight basically all of my life. The first time I tried to have surgery was about 5yrs ago. It didn't go to well so I gave up. In 2007 I decided to try again due to my health getting worst. I told myself nothing is going to stop me now, I'am going to do what ever it takes. I was not giving up this time. Sooooo I started my sessions at Celebration Hospital in Celebration, Fl. a town near Orlando, Fl. It was on from there!!!!!!!!!! I'am here to listen and learn. I had RNY SURGERY OCT. 30, 2007.

Post-op 2months and 16 days out. I go to my 3rd doctor visit tomorrow I'am ready to get it over with. The journey so far has been okay. I'am glad the holiday's are over!

1month and 2 days. Today I had to go for my check up. Things went well, Dr.Kim told me it will only get better I'am down 31lbs. I feel pretty good, the pain is gone, and I'am getting around good. I over did it Thanksgiving time. I triggered my cellulitis, I was sick for about a week.

Post-Op 2weeks slow motion feeling down I only lost 9lbs. Dr. Kim was really nice to me. He came into the office and seen my face, and said what is wrong I looked at him and said 9lbs thats all. He said don't worry next visit it will be better. I left his office feeling a little better.

DAY OF SURGERY OCT. 30, 2007
I had to be at the hospital at 6:30a.m. I woke up excited ready to go, wasn't nerves about anything. I said I got GOD on my side. Got my grip, and headed for the door. Got to the hospital, the nurse told me I would be 3rd to have surgery. I was relaxing until about 1:45p.m. before they took me back I told my family I love them, and went on my way. Going in weighing 414lbs.

MY HIGHEST WEIGHT
On July 23, 2007 I went to see a Dietation about my weight, It was a whooping 453lbs. Another doctor told me I needed to loose 50lbs before he would think about doing the surgery. I change doctors, and kelp seeing the Dietation. Two weeks before surgery Dr. Kim still put me on a liquid diet. It worked it keep me from having to be cut on. Before surgery I lost 39lbs.

My Story

It all started with me going to a doctor finding out I had Chronic Lymphedema, and Cellulitis(LLE). If I stand to long, or sit with my leg hanging down it could trigger an infection in my leg. I would get really sick, and have high fevers, and severe leg pain. The doctor told me the only way I could have relief is to have weight lose surgery. I went through so much, the insurance company still turned me down, I wasn't giving up. All I could do is think about my life. At my highest weight of 453lbs I had enough. I begin going to group sessions at Celebration Hospital. I had my office visit with Dr. Kim I thought he was going to turn me down. The doctor before him did, he said I needed to lose around 50lbs then he would think about  me having the surgery. Dr. Kim gave me the okay, and put me on a liquid diet for 2 weeks. I really didn't care my life was about to change for the better. All I could say was THANK-YOU  GOD!!!!!!!!  On Oct.19,2007 was my Pre-Op class, and my date for surgery was Oct.30, 2007.
