6 weeks checkup

My appt. with Dr. Huyhn went well, I really liked him, He seems so nice was was very imformative, as well as spent a lot of time with me. I've lost 19% of my weight, and they like you to loose between 16 & 20% by 6 wks. I've lost 30 lbs. and had my first salad last night and one today. Yum! They took blood to check my potassium and said I could probably come off it. I went shopping for sandals and clearance at Bealls, got a sweater and 2 shirts (size L), so hope they fit this winter! I walked this morning and really need to make it a habit, I've been bad about it!
4 Weeks Out

Thursday I was 4 weeks out, and according to my scale (which is 3 lbs. off the office scale) I have lost 25 lbs. I am excited about that, cause over the last week I have lost and gained the same 2 lbs., and they are finally gone forever! My son Scott and DIL Jen are here from Baltimore, so good to see them! She is 5 months pregnant with our first grandbaby and is really showing! She's such a tiny thing anyway. We have gone out to eat several times and I have not had any problems with that. We've stayed busy, but I did walk one day. We had the family over last nite and that wore me out, but I am still feeling good!
I am going to try to start weighing once a week instead of every day, but you know, the cureosity gets the best of me! I can get into clothes that were real tight last year that I wouldn't wear, so that is exciting! Jimmy calls them my "skinny clothes", even tho I am far from that!

My Old Self Again

So I guess coming off the BP med. did help like Dr. Lord said.....It's amazing, I feel like my old self and my energy is finally back. I worked in the yard yesterday, and shopped today and went to lunch the first time since surgery. Had baked fish and green beans, and baked potato at Capt. D's, last nite got take out, grilled shrimp from the new Catfish Hut near the house.
I was really getting discouraged about the lack of energy, and have a much better attitude about going through this surgery!

Feeling Worse

Well, yesterday my energy was back down again. I rode my bike in the morning for 20 minutes and it all went downhill after that. Last nite around 9:30 I got up out of the recliner and was a little dizzy and lightheaded, my feet were tingling and just felt awful. I sat back down and when I went to get up at 10 I was so dizzy I could hardly stand! I read my hospital release papers and one reason to call the DR. was lightheadedness and dizziness, so I called the service at 10:15. I hated to, but I was worried cause I hadn't felt like that before and I was afraid to go to sleep! So I talked to Dr. Lord at 10:45 (sorry DL!) and he said to quit taking my blood pressure meds and take more potasium & come see him Friday if I wanted to. I slept ok and was better when I woke up. Jan called to check on me and and I told her I was some better, but when I hung up, I got flushed and hot faced, a little nausea and all around crappy. My pulse rate was up and my whole body felt wierd. So I called her back and could hardly speak to her I felt so bad and weepy. She told me to come in and get checked since the weekend was coming up. DH took me, and I felt some better by the time I laid down in the room. My pulse was high also. Anyway, he told me he thought I just had a case of the dizzy's and lightheadedness ( oh yeah? that's why I'm here!) He told me coming of the blood pressure med. would make me feel a lot better, and that I had been through a lot, and it was just now catching up with me probably. But he thought everything was normal. I told him maybe I just needed to go home and have a good cry! I haven't wanted to do that yet, til today! I went and had blood work done and visited a lady (DH's coworkers wife) who had the surgery yesterday. She looked great! By the time I did all that, I was feeling a lot better. So what was wrong with me??? I hope that doesn't come back! Dr. Lord and Jan made me feel a lot better and I appreciate them seeing me right away! Jan was really concerned when we spoke on the phone and it made me feel better!
