He is also a current member of the Mexican College for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Diseases (CMCOEM), formerly serving as Secretary for CMCOEM and he presently heads the Board of Certification for Obesity Surgeons in Mexico. He is also co-editor for a few obesity health magazines in Mexico. His involvement in the field of obesity care expands internationally as he is also a member of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO) in Latin America and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) in the United States.
