Danielle's Journey

Wow, I cant believe I havent been here in a while.  Let me catch you up...
Since March, I've been working my tail off trying to lose this weight! I think the last time I wrote, I was about 414, at least thats what I had gotten up to with that 10lb gain. My PCP suggested I try doing low carb. and to get my carbs from fruit. When I saw him in May I think my weight was 403. So I gave a good go at it. Then when I saw the nutritionist in June, I had gotten down to 388! That was tough! Although, I like what my scale at home says while I have no clothes on. I wish I could get that weight while I'm at the dr's trying to document that weightloss.
I went and saw my PCP in July, he was very
happy with my progress.  I got down to 378. So that means I've gotten that 5% off, FINALLY! Now my next goal, which I am extremely close to, is to get my bmi below 60. OH's bmi calculator doesnt calculate half inches in height. So I know that I'm either right at 60 or just a tad bit above it. I just need to get it below 60 before I get to visit with the surgeon.  They have a rule that they dont like to, or wont do lap surgeries on people with a bmi over 60.  I dont want to have to beg with him to agree to it. I just want my bmi below so it's just an automatic deal.
So, I'm  also right at my 6 months with my PCP, so I called OHSU and reqested that they get my records from my PCP. They also STILL do not have my EKG from Kaiser. I hope I dont have to have another, but if I do, I just want to get it done and get scheduled to meet with the surgeon. But it's sounding like they will try to get approval from my insurance before I can meet with the surgeon. I'm going to start to get nervous.

Oh and before I forget! I JOINED A GYM! and I'm actually having fun with it! It's amazing!  I never thought those words would come out of my mouth!!!
ok, I'm going to get back to enjoying my quiet apartment before my daughter gets home!
Enjoy your summer!
