Surgeon Testimonial

Manuel Castro, M.D., Ph.D
he has a very gentle way about him. He seems to truly care abouut the whole person. being a nurse and having researched the procedure, preop and post op information that is available, i did not have a lot of questions, but the few that i did have, he answered very good. i felt very comfortable with him as my surgeon. i would highly recommend him to anyone looking to do bariatric surgery.

i went shopping yesterday for some new pants for work because the old ones keep falling down. i couldn't believe it. size 18/20. OMG. i was a 32 when i started this journey. i am so happy. wish i could do something about the flabbiness though on my stomach and underarms. o well, one thing at a time.

i have lost half of what i want to at this point. feeling great. like what i see in the mirror. just want to encourage you to stay with it and you will get where you want to go too. for those still trying to decide, do it, you won't regret it.

i am almost 6 months out from surgery and have lost 98lbs from my heaviest weight. i was 397.5 at my highest before i had the surgery. i went to the gym last night and weighed myself. 299.5lbs. under 300. OMG i have not been under 300 in years. i am so happy. i am also feeling great. i can do an hour aquatic work out and actually keep up with the exercise. enjoying life a lot more now.

feeling great
on June 11, 2011 7:30 am
it has been just over 4 months since my surgery. i have lost over 80 lbs and feel great. bought a new bathing suit that is a size 24- big difference from the size 32 i was wearing. when i first had my surgery, a friend who had a baby and was losing weight gave me a pair of size 22 jeans. i told her those are too small for me, but she said see it as a goal thing to fit into them. i was hesitant to believe it ,but i took them anyway. yesterday i tried them on just for the heck of it. 1 inch more and they will fit. OMG it has been so awesome. everyday i have people telling me how great i look. i also have people who are overweight asking me how they can get the surgery because they want to look and feel better like i do. it is a great feeling to inspire others.

a couple days ago, i went shopping and bought a shirt i really liked. it is a size 22/24. today i took pics of me from front and side and i am amazed at the difference from the ones a month ago. still kind of amazes me that it is happening so quick. 70 lbs in 3 months. wow.
