Surgeon Testimonial Steven Patching, M.D. This is in response to Mezza Bella. I first saw Dr. Patching in February of 2008. He informed me at that time I would need to lose 20 lbs and start an exercise program before he would perform surgery on me. I was aware of this as I had already attended Dr. Patchings informational group meeting. I had also attanded another VERY popular surgeons group meeting prior to that. That very popular Dr. made it clear that he did not require any weight loss prior to surgery. That was all I needed to hear, I got up and left. Why? Because this is my life we are talking about here and any Dr. worth his salt is going to see to it that their patient is in optimum condition going into major surgery. Frankly I want a surgeon with my immediate and long term best interests at heart. If my losing 20 lbs and starting an exercise program means that my heart and vitals will be stronger while I am lying open on that operating table than so be it. If starting an exercise program and journaling my food means that I will be able to keep my weight in control once I have lost it, all the better! He could, like many other surgeons, take your money and give you your quick fix. Really it would be so much easier and profitable for him! He doesn't because he takes pride in his work and and he cares about his patients. Now here's the irony; 4 months later and I still have not lost the weight. I went in to see Dr. Patching and he GENTLY scolded me, as he should have. He was absolutely in the right. I have informed him that once I remove my head from my ass I will be back to see him, and only him...because I know he really cares. Ericka Member Interests
