Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I started gaining weight when I started puberty. It wasn't so bad then. I stayed around the same size throughout highschool. Once I started college I lost some weight but then gained it back shortly after getting married. After I had my 2 children I really ballooned. I've tried and tried to lose the weight having limited success. Whenever I've lost I've always gained it back. It has hurt my relationship with my children and my husband. I can't do certain things with my kids that really hurt me because I enjoy spending time with them. I've gone through bouts of depression that has turned me into an emotional eater and I had been in a vicious cycle of getting upset about my weight and then eating to dull the pain thus making me upset about my weight.

My Story

My story is probably no different from anyone elses.  I started gaining weight when I hit puberty.  I was what some call "thick".  It wasn't until after I had my 1st child that I started packing on the pounds.  Mostly because I didn't know how to eat during pregnancy and also because I did apply myself to lose it afterwards.  Then came kid #2 that I realized I needed to do something.  So I had a breast reduction to ease my back pain while exercising, moved to a new home/country, and started exercising.  It worked for a while.  I would lose then gain, lose then gain.  It has been a rollercoaster ride for the last 5 years and I want to get off.  My husband has given me the tools and bought me equipment.  I work out and eat right but still no movement.  That's when i decided to look at WLS.  I'm hoping with the Lap Band's help, notice I said help, I can achieve my dream body.  My dream is a body that I am happy with.  To finally look on the outside the way I feel on the inside is my dream.  A dream that I know is attainable.
