Today I got a fill
on March 23, 2011 2:04 pm
I got a .5cc fill today. I hope this will bring me to the level I need to be to start losing weight. But I know it will take more than a good fill, I need to start working out. I will get on the treadmill in a few mins and build my stamina back each day. My goal is to jog/run 1 mile.  My weight today was 189.  I will not set a goal other than to say that in the next year I would like to 50 lbs. Each day I will work towards that.

Getting back on track :)
on March 22, 2011 7:37 pm
It has been over a year since I have blogged and I have so much to catch up on. Unfortunetly, that does not include weight loss :( Last year I got to my lowest weight of 174lbs. After getting back on the Depo shot I was having a lot of restriction because I was spotting everyday for 3 months. Life was miserable I was throwing up all the time, suffering from acid reflux and almost choked several times in my sleep but dehydration was the worst. I no longer had insurance and could not afford a doctor visit for an unfill. Once I was able to afford an unfill I was so miserable I begged the doctor to take out 3.5 cc out of 5 cc, and he did. I felt great!!! But ate everything I had been craving and stopped working out! :( I had on fill last fall, 1cc,  very conservative because I feared being over restricted again. I was able to lose 8 lbs but then have been stable. I would say my fill level is perfect for when I am at goal. I go tomorrow to get another fill and will ask for 1cc. My goal is to start back working out atleast 3x a week and work my way back to 5x a week. I know I can do this,  I am already: at my halfway point, under 200lbs, fit in a regular bath towel, healthy by all measures, have no pain in my feet anymore and wear size 12/14. :) But tomorrow will be the first day of the second half of my journey. My goal is to lose another 50-60 lbs.

Achieved first goal!
on February 7, 2010 10:31 am
January 1, 2010 I weighed in at 210 lbs. My first goal was to be under 200 lbs. At the end of January I finally made it to 198 lbs!!!  I kept getting on the scale just waiting to see it go back over 200 but it has not. It is now the first week of February and I am down to 196 lbs.  Oh and I fit into a pair of dress pants from Macy's size 14! But comfortably I am a 16, better than the 22/24  I started at! My shirt I got from the teen section at Walmart was a large 12/14 and big!

Unfill
on October 3, 2009 5:50 pm
This morning I went to the ER because I was dehydrated  and having severe right kidney pain.  I recieved a 1 cc unfill to make a total of 4 cc in my 10 cc band. I can eat and drink now!!!!  But I feel much better after IV therapy and antibiotics by IV.  Will keep everyone posted.

My Story

I am 27 years old and a mother of two beautiful girls ages 3 and 1. I am currently seperated from my husband and will be going through a divorce shortly. I have always been chunky but my weight really came on when I was a sophmore in high school. My asthma was bad and I had to stop playing sports, I was on steriod medication to control it, my eating habits went down the drain and I was depressed over the deaths of my nephew and my sisters mother and father in law. I have always been an emotional eater. By the time I graduated from high school I weighed 200 lbs. My adult life has been between 200 and my current weight 253 which is my highest.

I was subbing for the school district and had applied for a paraprofessional position. I started that position this January (2009). I was fortunate enough to have BCBC TX TRS which covered both the lap band and the gastric bypass. I choose the lap band because I like that it is removable, less invasive and adjustable.  When I found this website I viewed mostly RNY before and after pics and was discouraged. I had second thoughts until I finally found the lap band before and after pics.  I was so encouraged and motivated by the members on this website; I knew that the lap band was the right choice.
