OH, My!

May 24, 2008

Been a little longer than I usually like before I write an update...so, better late than never, eh?
I am having food issues...eating many, many times too many during the course of the day and night. It is grazing at it's finest. I have got to figure out what in the hell my problem is and knock it off before I start gaining. My choices aren't always the best (lots'o'choco) and it is going to catch up with me sooner or later. I still make every effort to get some extra protein in even if it's very late at night....but I always seem to follow that protein with a choco chaser. Not good.
I don't dump very often anymore, and I really don't think that it matters one way or the other. However, when I do dump, it tends to be on odd things...not the usual suspects. Perhaps this is just what happens further out...things will continue to change I suppose, and not always be as predictable as they were in the beginning. Oh well, I'm in for the long haul no matter what, right?
In other news...I have received my final grade for A&P. I got an A!! I only made that grade by .2 of a point...but I don't give a damn!!! I'm taking it anyway ;o). I am still on the waiting list for Psych @ #3....I just need 4 people to drop before June 9 and I will officially be enrolled in my last class needed before I can apply to the nursing program. I can apply in the fall for the spring semester if I can complete this class during the summer. Then, I only need to take History or Poli Sci in the fall to finish out my AS. I am so close to having something accomplished and enjoy the sweet taste of success that I can almost taste it! Anyway, I can order my book on Tuesday for Psych in utter anticipation of making it into the class.
It's Memorial Day weekend...nothing is going on here. I can't believe that last week it was 100 degrees...now it's 60-something and trying to rain. This doesn't happen in the valley in late May. Damon took Forrest to a local lake for fishing with some guys from work. They are only staying for the day and will be back sometime tonight. MacKenzie is at Damon's parent's house for the weekend. So, Piper and I spent the out-and-about running errands. whee! It's so dark and gloomy that it was sort of a depressing day no matter what we would have tried to do to jazz it up. At least it was a quiet day with my baby :o)...my baby who's about to start 1st grade soon :o(. I guess my days of little ones under foot are just about over until grand babies start coming. That better be a long way off!!

Happy Mother's Day!

May 11, 2008

So, today was Mother's Day and I got to spend most of it in peace and quiet. Damon took the kids fishing up in the foothills for most of the afternoon...I got to stay home and study :o(. I really needed to study, and I hate fishing, so I shouldn't be sad about being stuck at home...but I was. I really didn't get as much done as I had hoped...just couldn't concentrate on my studies...I did get the lawn mowed, though. The rest of the evening was completely average...nothing special. Gosh, I did get the pleasure of making dinner for everyone. Oh, wait...I do that everyday! Yep,  just a typical Mom's day around here...get up early because the husband is "too tired to get up" and have the pleasure of making every one else a breakfast that I can't even eat. Fill the day with chores. Then, end the day by making dinner for every one. Good times.
Okay, I do have one good thing to report about this week, though. Damon took Thursday off of work and we went to the local Dodge dealer to see if they would match the Costco price on a Dodge Journey that we were quoted at another dealer up in the hills. They immediately said yes...though, of course, some haggling was still necessary. Anyway, we traded our Mega Cab for a new Journey. I LOVE IT!!!! We got most of what we wanted...there are only so many choices on the lot, after all. But, we also got a few things that we really weren't interested in buying, but whatever...overall we're super pleased. Of course you guessed it....Damon immediately said, "Happy Mother's Day"...as if it was really planned to buy me (us) a car for my gift. I didn't even get flowers today. Again, whatever...they die anyway.
