A day at the fair

Is this not the cutest damn thing you have ever seen?
100_2063.jpg image by EGSuzie_photos We saw them at the California State Fair. I just can't stay away from the piggies.
100_2067.jpg image by EGSuzie_photos This little guy was only two days old. He is going to be a gorgeous bull someday.
This "little lady" was literally hours from going into labor. I'm glad my ass wasn't this wide while pregnant :x.

Success!!

I didn't blog this because I didn't want to jinx it. But, now that it has been resolved...I can spill my guts.
I have been on a waiting list for Poli Sci..my last class to earn my AS. Finally, I have been enrolled! I am officially beginning my last class tomorrow. It's just unreal how long and short this has been for me. Of course, I still have to fill out many tedious applications for nursing school and then suffer and wait to find out if I have been chosed by the computer gods that pick the new enrollees...but, at least I am nearly finished with one major goal.
So, other than that...my weight is doing strange and weird things. I have dropped below my "target low" of 140...I have been holding at about 138 +/- a few ounces. It makes no sense. I didn't really think that I have been doing anything differently lately to cause this...but it's happening anyway. All the better...maybe it will make the eventual bounce back weight easier to bear.

18 months out and feeling fine!

Aug 04, 2008

Okay, so normally I'm not a copy & paste kind of girl when it comes to posts and updates...but this time it's just easier than re-capping the same info. So, here goes:
Wednesday marked 18 months out for me, and Friday was my 18 month visit. I am pleased to report that all of my blood work came back phenomenally! Which is, admittedly, a relief because I wasn't being the most diligent with my vits...kind of one day on/one day off for a few weeks. But, I have turned that around since the vampires took my blood.
Weight is fine, no problems or issues to report...still down 109-111 pounds since surgery. Really, it seems like a wasted visit. A couple of funny things did happen, though. First, the PA came into the room and started laughing. I was a bit taken aback and asked him what was so funny. He said it was really cute how I looked like a little girl sitting on a big park bench...me sitting on the table with my feet swinging. He said that I looked so tiny sitting up there. Me? Tiny? Huh? and finally, " Wow, thank you."
The other thing was that he asked if I had seen my before pics, that are taken a week before surgery, yet. I said no and no thanks. He said that I really needed to take a peek because I would get a kick out of it. Let me tell you...I was shocked. I said that I couldn't believe that pic was of me. He then said, "it's not...this is you"...pointing to that day's photo, and "that was never who you really were, this is." I nearly broke out into tears right there.
Okay...enough story time. I just want all of you to know just how special you all are to me and how much I count on you for support and encouragement. This is a really special place for me. Thank you for sharing your lives with me over this past year and a half...it means the world to me.

Another one bites the dust!

WooHoo!!! Another class down!!! I just got an email from my psych instructor with an Excel doc. containing the class grades. I am thrilled to report that I got an A with 98%. What a relief to have that done and over with. Now, I can start fretting over nursing school apps and stressing over whether or not I will get in on the first try. good times. But, I'll say it again...I got an A, I got an A, I got an A!!!
