Two quick updates

Nov 17, 2009

Update #1:
The passports arrived today!!!! And yesterday I obtained my order for lab work to send to Dr. Sauceda. My PCP is friggen awesome! He was totally excited for me...even the idea of going to Mexico rocked his socks. He wants me to fill him in on everything once I get back so he can pass the info along to other patients that need plastics.
So, I'm a busy, busy bee with arrangements and preparations for surgery. I am so freakin' excited I can't even stand myself! lol

Update #2:
I just received the first of what will likely be two more nursing school application denials. They had over 1,000 applicants this term and made a point to say that most people won't and don't get selected until well after the fourth round...this was round three for me. So, another year of applying before I have a good chance?
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times...the California school system sucks ass.

It's official now...

The cashier's check for our loan is in the bank! And I bought our plane tickets today....$1400!! Thank goodness Dr. Sauceda reimburses $600 of my ticket costs. I've emailed a copy of the confirmation to Dr. S...this locks in my surgery date.

Holy crap...it's really happening.

It is on order...expedited even!

Alright, the next step in the process in under way...the ever useful passport. I can not believe it cost us nearly $400 for my husband and me to have them expedited within 2-3 weeks. We likely would have been ok with regular delivery, but really, why chance it.

This evening I went to pick up a cashier's check from my parents-in-law. They are loaning us $14,000 until taxes and vacation checks come in near the first of the year. We are eternally blessed to have parents willing to do this for us.

So, tomorrow I will deposit the check and book our airfare. Then, I need to send a receipt to Dr. Sauceda to lock in my Dec. 22 surgery date and I believe he will then refund my flight cost up to $600.

The next step after that is getting an appointment with my PCP for a blood-work order and to set up some sort of after care plan with him. He is so awesome, I can't imaging it being a problem.

Until then, butterflies are taking up residence in my gut. I wonder if they brought rainbows, too?

Yeah, baby!!

December 22 is the day I will be sliced and diced by fabulous Dr. Sauceda! I am quite anxious, but completely thrilled!!

I will be having tummy tuck w/anchor cut, bl/ba w/anchor cut, and medial thigh lift. My hubby will be going with me, provided he can get the time off of work...otherwise, it will be a solo adventure.

I am, understandably, a bit sad to have to leave my kids over the holiday break, as my stay in Monterrey will last about 12 days...to Jan. 1 or 2. But, they know I have wanted to do this for a very long time and are very supportive of me having surgery whenever I am able.

I will update as my plans unfold. So, for now....
