I'm more than two months out now and feeling good.  I've lost about 17 kilos (37pounds) but it really does seem to be slow going.  I'll ask the surgeon about that tomorrow when I see him.  Lots of people tell me it's better to be slow than fast and I guess that's true but it doesn't feel that way when I stay the same weight for more than a week sometimes!  I'm not weighing myself every day - have been a bit better about that but it's still a couple of times a week.  I haven't experienced any dumping and can probably 'cheat' more than I was hoping - I've been pretty good mostly but it doesn't seem that anything affects me except to give me a bad taste in my mouth sometimes.  So, life goes on and slowly I'm losing - I do look a lot better than I did in the first month - my face was grey for quite a while - I thought it was only me who knew but now I look better, everyone's telling me so!
Anyway, no regrets yet - I know I wouldn't be losing at all without the RNY - frustrating as it is sometimes!

It's been a while but I guess that's to be expected as the days and weeks go by.  My weight loss seems very slow but part of that is because I get on the scales every day - almost - and the difference from one day to the next really is not able to be measured and often I'm even up a few hundred grams!  Oh well, I will just have to promise not to weigh more than once a week.  I'm losing about a half kilo to one kilo a week - 1-2 pounds.  I know I'm not doing the right thing all the time but it seems that for the amount I'm eating, it should be faster!!

It was back to school last Monday and straight into a busy case for me.  Fortunately all was resolved and the emotional energy expended, was worth it in the end.  I work with special needs and behaviour difficulty children - managing their cases - or not knowing what to do with them a lot of the time!!  I like my job but sometimes the 'system' lets a lot of people down and I thought the case this week would be one like that but in the end the child is to be supported so it's all fine.

I'm wondering why I bothered to have RNY - I seem to be able to eat anything - not that I can eat much of anything, but I don't have or haven't yet had, dumping.  It was the reason I went for RNY so that I wouldn't be tempted with sweet things.  Anyway, I guess I could still get it and better not speak too soon!

I've just booked our flights home from China for January - should have done it three weeks ago - the taxes are in Japanese Yen and even though the flights used frequent flyer points, I still had to pay a heap more in taxes because the Australian dollar is so low.  I hope it lifts a bit by December or we'll be living a bit simply while over there!  I was looking at 3 and 4 star hotels - maybe I'll need to go to the 1 and 2 star ones!

Have a good week, Y'all!
