Hi! My name is Eryn. My real name is Elyssa, but everyone calls me Eryn. I am married to the love of my life, Austin. Together, we have been blessed with 3 handsome boys. They are 6, 3 and 1.5. These 4 guys are who i live for! They tell me wonderful things like," mommy, you are Boot-a-ful!" and " You are the love of my life." So, i guess Im pretty important to my awesome guys! Its safe to say, I AM LOVED!!!! lol

Although i am very happy in life and have many blessings, I still felt an area of unhappiness. I loved the person i was, but not my looks. So being the strong and smart woman I am, I started to look for healthy alternatives to help me improve my health and how i felt about my looks. I tried everything from a personal trainer ( 6 weeks+diet+dedication= 5lbs loss. something didnt add up,lol), fad diets, body wraps, and praying until my knees gave out. The praying did more for me than any of it because I had finally recieved some gudieance from God and once again, He answered my prayers.

Home sweet Home
on August 18, 2012 3:36 pm
Today I was able to  come home after being in the hospital for a total of 2 nights! I was so surprised how great i felt after surgery! Within just 3 hours out of recovery I was up walking. Needless to say, I was super motivated!! I made it around 2.5 times before I felt tired!  WOOOHOOO!!!! I was pretty sore my first day but if I was laying flat I felt pretty good! I had been warned that I would have lots of gas trapped in me, and that would prove to be a little more than uncomfortable. The hardest thing for me was allowing my husband and the awesome nursing staff to feed me, bath me and help me out of bed. I even need help going to the restroom!!! But, when day one was over, I fell asleep with a smile on my face. God had answered my prayers to keep me safe, strong, positive and to remind me that when things feel bigger than what they truly are, that this journey is a blessing.

On our way home, I went by Wally world to fill my prescription and pick items we thought during my time in the hospital. I actually made a full trip, around wally, on foot, and felt pretty good. I could tell I was pushing it, but to everyone else, it probably looked like i was walking with a mess in my pants! But little did they know what i was accomplishing at that very moment! Not only was I not using a "power wheels" chair, but i was also walking up and down isle's like i owned them! We got the goods and headed home. That night, I was happy to be in bed. It was great just to be in my own home, in my own bed, and finally recovering at my own pace. I swallowed some bitterly sweet Loratab, and off to sleep i went! It wasn't until the next morning, I realized because of how I had been laying at the hospital in their cozy and adjustable bed, that my bed was actually was falter than the hospitals. This initally felt good. But after a few hours of putting unnoticed strain on my o-so-sore abdomen, well, lets just say I will be spending my next few nights on our hospital-like couch! Overall, I am happy to be home and my pedal is to the metal on recovery road!!

Pre-OP appointment
on August 13, 2012 11:01 am
Well its hard to believe I am almost there! Today is my last appointment with my Dr. and my pre op at the hospital! I am so excited but begginning to feel a bit nervous! Im not sure if I am more nervous about what life is going to be like after surgery or the pain after! I am also feeling anxious worrying about my boys eating! My hubby is starting to cook and is doing well at it :) I know I will be much more successful if im not cooking for them! For the first time I am focusing purely on myself and I am struggling a bit.

My Story

Hello,

My name is Eryn, I am 24 years old. I am married to my higschool sweet heart and he is in the Air Force we are currently staitioned in Texas. We have been married for almost 7 years and we have 3 wonderful boys 6, 3, 1. I have always struggled with  my weight and with each son I gain a ton of weight and slowly lose again. I was most motivated after my third son to finally lose all the weight and to be healthy for my boys. I was finally below 200 and when I stopped losing I started gaining weight. Here I am today weighing almost 240 pounds the heaviest I have ever been NOT pregnant. I am so ready for this surgery and my new journey! I am ready to be healthy, have energy, and be motivated for a life time of success! I have God, my husband, my boys, family and friends on my support team!
