Surgeon Testimonial

Hanafy M Hanafy, M.D., F.A.C.S.
I had my Lap Band surgery with Dr. Hanafy on October 19th 2007. Everything went very well with no complications. Dr. Hanafy made me feel very comfortable and he has a good sense of humor. He explained everything to me in great detail and he is very thorough... which I can appreciate. I was very confident with him doing my surgery. His office has a great aftercare program that seems very detailed and dedicated to helping their patients be successful with their weightloss. The only negative thing I can think of is the front desk staff doesn't really seem like they have it together. I would definitely recommend Dr. Hanafy to do your weightloss surgery!

Friday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

1 Week Post Op!
on October 26, 2007 9:58 am
Today I am 1 week post op! I can't believe my band is already a week old... boy how time really does fly. I'm feeling great besides the hunger I've been feeling... 2 more days and I can move on to mushies..... I can't wait to have something with a little substance. I am happy to say that I've lost 11 lbs since surgery! I know that a lot of that is probably water weight and that I might gain once I can actually get to eat again, but at any rate it still feels pretty good. So since I started this whole process I've lost a total of 25lbs!

5 Days Post Op
on October 24, 2007 8:46 am
I'm 5 days post op now and still can't believe how well I'm feeling. I do get tired quickly if I'm up and around too much. So far I'm so glad that I made the decision to do this. I got on the scale yesterday and I've lost 8lbs since surgery, so all in all I've lost a total of 22lbs including the pre op dieting I had to do. Its been years since I've done something and lost 22lbs..... I'm so excited!

I got my band yesterday!! I still can't believe it. All and all I'm feeling pretty good. My stomach feels like I did 1,000 crunches and my chest is pretty tight from the gas , but I feel better than I thought I would. I'm just so excited... I can't believe I HAVE A BAND! I feel like yesterday was my new birthday and I can't wait to start my new life!!!!

the count down is on.... 2 more days!
on October 17, 2007 6:13 pm
So I was feeling pretty good today. Starting to get a little anxious, but I'm doing pretty good. A funny thing happened to me today..... A client of mine came in to see me today and brought her 3 yr old daughter with her. As I'm waxing my clients eyebrows I'm talking to the 3 yr old about how when she gets bigger she'll get her brows done too. She says "yeah, when I get big like you, but you have a big stomach". Ahhhh kids can be so brutally honest. My client (who knows about my surgery) almost died when she heard what her daughter said, and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I did just laugh it off.... and took as a reconfirmation that I am in fact doing the right thing! hahaha

3 Days And Counting......
on October 16, 2007 9:50 am
Oh I can't believe I'm 3 days away from surgery! Even though this process has been pretty quick (10 wks) for me I still can't believe its almost here.  I do have mixed emotions about everything.... I'm excited, I'm nervous, I'm anxious...... I just want to get on with it!
