Hi, My name is Ginny. I live in New York State with my girls and cats. I am close to 50 years old ((In May 2007 I will be))....I have been overweight since I was around 18 years old or so..I was skinny as a rail when I was a teenager though..(I added a picture in my pictures here of when I was 16!)...I am hoping to have surgery by the summer..I am just starting on my journey now with the class, Dr, Counseling, etc. I hope to meet some friends here to talk about the surgery and good and bad things someone might want to share..have a nice day..Ginny.

Going to the First class and start my journey NOW!

As I promised myself, I am going to my class on Wed. March 28th 2007. I need more information and things answered as to protien shakes, how long on liquid, etc. I think thisgs will go ok for me. My diabetic Dr. said If I lose weight I may not need to go on Insilin Pump Therapy since my sugars went back up this 3 month period and he believes more in Lap Band than the Gastric Bypass which is good support for me and others who go to him. So I am definately more so than before strongly considering my band!

Going to Follow Through!

I make a promise to myself today to go to all my appointments and make my surgery schedule when I can. After the worse day yesterday, I feel I can do this and want to do this. I have diabeties, arthritis, degenerating bones in my back, weakened knees, alot of things to do with obesity. I am trying to lose what I can before I go to see the Dr I want to do my surgery. But it is really hard.

Did Not Go To Consult

I got really scared and did not go to my consult..I rescheduled it and I made myself a promise that I am going...I just get frustrated sometimes..I am suffering from Major Depression and PTS...so there are days when I am more fearful than others.  I also have to reschedule my Phychiatric Evaluation!..I am looking foward to someday soon losing the weight to be more healthy and productive too.

I am very nervous today. I go to the Dr and start my journey again on Feb. 1.....Only 2 days away!  I cannot wait but it came up fast from when I called after I heard they take my insurance now. I have gone before but did not have the required $500 for the phychiatrist. I really wanted to do this a few years ago when I was a few years younger but the insurance would not cover everything then so off I go to my journey. I am scared a bit but I have here to support me! Thank You for this website!..Ginny.

My Story

Hi, my name is Ginny. I live in the catskill mountains od New York about 100 miles North of New York City. I never married though..had 3 children and one died after 17 months..the other 2 are girls..ages 15 and 26..my boy would have been 18 September 2006....I been diagnosed with Dythymia..it is a long long term depression and I am on SSI right now..I am planning on going to start the process once again on Feb. 1 2007...I went to this Dr before but chickened out..He was just starting to practice a few years back and I wanted to see how he was doing as a surgeon for Lap Band..he is doing great so I am going back now and sticking to it!.....The only time I went to surgery was in 1999 for my Hystorectomy..I am afraid of going under anesthesia because of the way my son passed away....I also have Diabeties..arthritis..narrowed vessels in my neck and it causes muscle spasms..enough now..that is my story for the most part.If anyone lives close to me and is going for surgery.I would love to have someone to go through this with!..I am looking to meet friends here also..Thanks...Ginny.
