Hi, my name is Leslie.  I’m 49 years old, 5’2”, married for almost 25 years, have 2 boys (19 & 16), 3 dogs (2 Goldens and a Black Lab), 1 step dog (my 19 year olds Amer. Pit he adopted in college), 2 cats, a great career, and have struggled with weight loss most of my life.

My Story

Well to continue with my story…The only time that I did not struggle with weight loss was over 4 years taking Phen/Fen (or just Phen when Fen was taken of the market) between the ages of 40 through 44 at which point, I was back to my 20 something weight of 120-128 lbs. It was glorious!   Over the past 5 years, I developed chronic gastritis, severe psoriatic arthritis (disabled for 3 months), depression and anxiety disorders, sleep apnea, and topped out at 198 lbs. All of which, except for the weight and sleep apnea, is well controlled with medication.  Also, had my gall bladder removed and have been post-menopausal for the past 2 years (yahoo for no more menses!).    After having tried and failed at every diet known to man, I pretty much lost hope until I stumbled upon this OH website last year (May 08) and immediately started FEELNBETTER. Decided on VSG surgery, and have a 05/28/09 surgery date with Dr. Guillermo Alvarez based on the generous and invaluable sharing of all those on the OH VSG message board. THANK YOU!!  I can’t wait to follow you on this wondrous journey and hopefully help to pass on the hope I discovered here to those who are still searching.
