Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I am definatley an emotional eater. And a large eater when I eat. I never used to eat until lunch, as I then felt tired and lethargic. I've tried every diet in the book, but the moment I went on a diet, I was starving! to the stage I could be sick. (Obviously mind over matter).

I think i've hit my first stall ... particially due to me not drinking enough (Bad Girl!). I'm really struggling with the liquid thing, as I've never been a big drinker. I see the nutritionlist tomorrow, so hopefully she can give me some tips. My husband has told m he can see a change in me, which spurs me on ... God bless him! I just want to make him proud. (And get my health back). I'm off to the chiro tomorrow also, to try and get my back put back in (I hope it works as i've been in AGONY!).

Had another rough day yesterday. I've put my back out, i'm not sure if it's from the heave I had that turned me inside out, or what. I've been in agony all week, went to the chiro (who is great) and he couldn't get my back to go in... too much swelling. He massaged my hip and was pulling on my right leg to try free it up (my back always goes out on the right side). I had another attack of the foamies... a rather bad one, when I threw up, I've burned my throat. (Give me the gun NOW please!) ... On a positive note, i'm 100 grams from losing 9 kg (day 15) or 19.8 pounds. I keep telling myself... no pain no gain!!

I've been trying to get my page up to date, learning the site etc. I'm finding it hard as my dietician is away on a holiday. I don't like annoying the surgeon, so i'm really feeling my way food wise. I'm feeling hungry, but my tummy's not. I assuming this is the mind over matter. (mind you the mind is driving me batty!) I have an appt with the nutritionalist next Tuesday, so i'll be bombarding her with questions! will post again soon!

I had a bad day yesterday. I know we have to expect the odd one. I had a huge spew, which really hurt :( and I was really nauseous all day. To top it off, my Mum went home, (she lives 2000 miles away). So I think I was feeling a tad sorry for myself! It's day 11, and i'm refocussing, and will spend the day doing positive things (cleaning the kids bedrooms). My surgeon and I have decided that i'll take an extra week off due to me being nauseous all the time. I think once I get that under control, I'll be fine. I got a new MAC laptop through work last week, so i think i'll sit and fiddle with that to relax (hopefully! lol). I've uploaded a couple of pics that we took as we were racing out the door to the hospital, so I'm not looking all that happy!

Today is the first day I've felt like coming near the pc. I feel rather good, the only pain as such is wind that seems to get caught in my tummy. I had my husband burp me last night .. lol weird as it was, it helped alot. I managed to sleep a little on one side which felt SO good! If i feel sick, I jump on the scales, that brings a smile to my face, and helps me re focus. My Mum arrived from interstate Monday night, she was too upset to stay home, which has been great. Our sons have loved seeing Nanna, and she does spoil me! I find whatever I eat goes right through me, I'm eating soft foods (jelly, custards, yogurt) I can now tolerate around 1/2 a cup. I'm sturggling with fluids, I've never been a big drinker. I got a call from my surgeons wife Monday. They wanted to see how I was, and were thrilled with my progress. I thought initially there were 5 of us being done that day, but there were 3 and 2 lapbands. I was the first.... I said as I was wheeled in to surgery, I wished I was the second! lol I was sick after the barrim swallow, but the other 2 weren't. The surgeon gave all 3 of us different type of care, to see which way was best. I was up and walking, without any pain meds 24 hours out. Went home day 3. The other girls I think went home day 5. I just hope they feel as good as I do! I wanted to thank you all for your wishes and support ... It means alot to me! Talk soon!
