Surgeon Testimonial

Garth Davis M.D.
Dr. Davis was not what I had expected after watching 'Big Medicine'. He was professional, no nonsense and confident. He asked if I had any questions and the question that I did have was more of a concern or worry. He answered my question and told me not to worry. With the confidence that he exhibited that worry was alleviated at that moment. What more could a person ask for? He is serious about follow up care and support meetings and rightfully so.

The office staff seemed helpful, nice and patient.

Day 2 of preop liquid diet
on February 27, 2008 9:43 pm
Im weathering this better than I had expected, the 2 weeks is still young, but hoping for the best.  My husband and child have been very sensitive to the fact that I can't have food.  God bless them.

My thoughts keep returning to Monday when I was doing my preop stuff ALL DAY.  I was almost angry that it was taking sooo long, all I could think of was they were wasting away my precious few hours to eat like a mad person.  I realize that is a very unhealthy way to look at food, maybe the battle is not yet fought but just begining.

'BIG MEDICINE'
on February 21, 2008 12:20 pm
I had the opportunity to see 'Big Medicine' last night.  I am honored to say that Tanya-rn has agreed to be my Angel.   We have not met but I feel as though we already know each other on a much higher level.

I feel an overwhelming since of guilt when I watch shows like 'Big Medicine'.  Guilt that I have allowed myself to become obese.  I feel as though it affects everyone that comes into contact with me, especially family and friends.  I think Tanya-rn said it best when she talked about her daughters memories.  I thank God every day that I am now allowed to go forward with this process and not years down the road.

Today I am thankful for time off from work.......lol.  I have several days off this week and for those of you that know me well know that I hate leaving home to go to work.  When I go to work I feel torn between what I feel I need to do and what my heart wants to do.

Life is good
on February 18, 2008 11:58 pm
Life is good........I am REALLY starting to get excited about my new life.  I am actually excited about going on the liquid diet, anxious to see how much I can loose preop.

I have been planning and preparing for surgery, making purchases and lists, making plans for my daughter while I am in the hospital, etc, etc.
I find that the emotional preparation has been as important or more important than the physical preparation.

My husband is well on his way to a sugery date aswell.  Should be April or May.  For those of you who do not know me well enough to know my husband and my relationship with him, let me say that the last couple of days have been awesome.  We have overcome many things in the last handfull of years, things that you only hear about on Jerry Springer and the sorts...lol  But we have managed and have a new found commitment to each other.

He is a plant worker and works many, many too many hours, he works days I work nights and we have a daughter who is in every activity known to man.  When we have time together as we have the last couple of days it is sooo refreshing, making me remember why I keep him around.  He is an awesome dad, provider and soulmate.  Why he keeps me around remains one of earths greatest mysteries.

a new earth
on February 16, 2008 8:32 pm
Guys I am reading a book, Oprah's book of the month.....I totally recommend it.  A New Earth

Wow the things I have learned.

So many of life's mysteries are now clearer to me than ever before.  Why we do the things we do, why others do the things they do and how our religious beliefs are what they are.

The count down is on, I have bought my PJ and some of the groceries I need.
