Surgeon Testimonial

Lyudmila S. Pupkova M.D.
5-11-07 ::: MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS THAT SHE RUSSIAN... SINCE I AM RUSSIAN THAT WAS A GOOD THING FOR ME... SHE WAS REALLY NICE... KIND OF IN A RUSH.. BUT I STILL LIKED HER... THE OFFICE STAFF WAS REALLY NICE, SHE ISNT REALLY IN AN OFFICE... SHE IS IN A HOSPITAL WITH A FEW OTHER DOCTORS AND THEY SHARE OFFICES... THE DOCTOR WAS INTO THE AFTER CARE SHE MADE HER ROUNDS 2 X THE NEXT MORNING AND SHE WAS AVAILABLE BY PHONE ALL NIGHT... THE NURSES ON THE NIGHT SHIFT WERE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY BLOOD PRESSUREE SO THATS WHY I FEEL AS THOUGH SHE CARES ABOUT A PATIENTS AFTERCARE... SHE WENT OVER THE RISKS DURING THE CONSULT AND AGAIN RIGHT BEFORE SURGERY... I WOULD RATE DR PUPKOVA A 10... I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE SURGERY AND RECOVERY...rnrnrn:::UPDATE:::7.26.07:::UPDATE::: Dr. P is still the best in my eyes... now that I am almost 3 months post-op she still calls me to see how i am doing... the care that she gives is like no other... also one thing i liked best about how my procedure was done was that she checks for leaks before she finishes the surgery which in the end make for a better recovery instead of having to go downstairs the following morning to get an xray and swallow that nasty contrast... eeew... i did have to do it once though but almost 1.5 months post of for other reasons... I am so thankful that Dr. P did my surgery, all of my my incisions are healing so well... one itches all the time but i think thats from my clothes... again i can not thank DR. P enough for performing the surgery... rnrnAlso, i did want to also include that Dr. P (and barix) are very picky about the patients they perform wls on... if you are at an extreme risk please do not be upset with anyone at the facility they mainly take patients they believe up front will be low risk (so to speak) yes surgery is always risky but just to give you an example... my father 5'10'' now 400 pounds, has a trache, and decubitis ulcer scars also went to see Dr. P and she turned him down because she felt as though he may need a facility that would be able to care for him in case of an emergency... which i completely understand from her point... but as my father left the facility he was not pleased with that answer he thought she should have still been able to do the surgery... in the end my father is now getting surgery sept 10 at jeans... personally i dont like his dr but thats my opinion... no one lives up to my standards for a bs after dealing with dr p... with that said... if you are reading this and you were turned down by the dr, well then she had a very good reason please dont be upset with her... she only wants whats best for everyone...rnrnOh yeah there are meetings at barix too that i wish i could get to but i always forget the day of the meeting that there is one that night... maybe the next one i will go to...

So it has been another year... I now have two baby boys... and its all thanx to my gastric bypass... i have run into one complication now... my gallbladder needs to be removed... but still to this day i would do the surgery 10x over if i had to do it again... after the delivery of my 1st baby april 7, 2008... i got down to my goal weight i was at 125... i actually got down to 121.5... which was amazing... then i found out i was pregnant again... baby #2 was born july 29, 2009... also a baby boy... now almost a year later i am struggling with the last 10 pounds that i need to get off... i currently weigh 135-140... it fluctuates so much... i would like to get back down to about 125... and ill be happy anything else makes me look sick... my saggy stomach isnt too bad... i work on it at the gym doing crunches and that mainly all i do at the gym... i dont have too much time to be there... but other than that i am happy healthy and fine!!!
