My Story

20th August 2009

Today my life is begins anew. Last night I decided to embark on my ultimate quest in personal achievement. To have my Hyena removed!
Some people refer to one of life’s many difficulties as ‘the Elephant’ in the room. I love Elephants. They are awesome beasts, the gentle giants of the world, making their way in life doing their Elephanty type things.  An un-discussed issue or problem maybe large, but an Elephant would not fit in my house nor follow me around laughing and humiliating me wherever I go. My issue, my problem, my sinkhole of guilt is a nasty, yappy, laughing, smelly beast I liken to a Hyena and I have decided to remove it once and for all!  Yesterday, after a few weeks of pondering and after doing the necessary research I bit the bullet between my front teeth and decided to put the Hyena at the top of my list and have surgery to remove it. Rather extreme I know and not a decision I take lightly. After having slept on it I woke feeling refreshed and positive that I have made the right decision for me. My life will change, it will be hard and difficult, I will not be the same person I am today. I am going on my very own personal adventure. My husband of course will be there beside me, probably occasionally behind me, oops I digress, his support and encouragement, understanding and love are the hummingbirds that lift me up and fill me with hope when the Hyena snaps at my heals and breaks the skin. For him I thank the Universe!
