MMMM Protein!!
on January 27, 2008 5:31 am
So I'm still a couple months until the end of my 6 month diet history, but im trying to try things to get an idea of what i might like after surgery.  I know your tastes completely change, but I hope not too much!  I like to be able to plan...anyway...I bought some unflavored unjury the other day at Nutrition Solutions before my group session and this morning I tried making a drink out of it to see how i liked it.  I got my blender bottle and filled it half way with light orange juice, then poured some skim milk in- added some ice and a pack of vita splash (tangerine strawberry) - it's a drink mix you can get in the aisle of the grocery store where all the crystal light is...and OMG!!! It is delicious...im sitting here drinking it now and i'm having to keep myself from chugging it down  haha  I really hope I enjoy this after surgery b/c it's tasty and will be a good pick me up for breakfast!  *just drank the last sip*  YUMMMMM  SO...you should try it and let me know what you think!  I at first just did the milk and oj but it just didn't have much taste...the vita splash really punched it up a bit!  ENJOY or at least I hope so.  :)

Realizations!
on January 9, 2008 1:02 pm
So, I know during this journey, you realize a lot of things!!  You really do learn soooo much as you go...from other people, classes, OH, Dr's...etc..

Well I've realized that through this journey you also go in phases...the deciding phase, the wanting to get as much info as humanly possible phase, the scared you're going to die phase, the scared you're never going to be able to eat another piece of cake phase, and just the plain out scared of everything phase....well I've offically gotten through all of the following!!  I am now in the "Thank God for this surgery, when is the day finally going to come" phase...

I'm just super excited now and ready to be thin!  woo hoo

Enrollment Fee- PAID IN FULL!!!
on January 2, 2008 4:11 pm
When we started this journey there were two stipulations

1.) I had to come up with the money on my own
2.) I had to lose 30lbs before surgery

well...I agreed to letting my husband get a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire (aka-his dreamcar) in exchange for him not saying anything else about the surgery, or my losing the 30 lbs...so he agreed.  I told him that I would lose what the doctor wanted me to...

SO...My husband saw my bill for the remaining balance for my surgery.  He asked what it was and I said, "Oh that's my bill for the surgery" and his response was...well why don't we go ahead and pay it off?.....  WHAT?!  I was shocked...through this whole thing it's been known that I was going to have to work a second job to pay for the surgery.  So i asked him if he was sure about it..and he said...yeah, just take the money out of our savings account and pay it off...

I was elated!  It feels so good to have it paid off and know that now all i have to do is wait for my 6 month diet history to be over...and wait for approval!  Those aren't small things, but...it's a definate step closer!  I love my husband so much.  I think he's really starting to realize how important this is to me and starting to see how much i need it!
