first two appointments
on December 23, 2011 6:31 pm
Had my first two appointments this past Tuesday.  They went very well, my weight was 246.8 BMI was 41.8.

The nurse was very nice, she ask medical history.  She didn't see any reason that I would have to go back to her.  She wanted me to do my blood work and an ECG, which I did on Wednesday morning.  She said she would call me if there was anything I needed to do.

The Social Worker appointment was interesting since I didn't really know what to expect.  I was thinking that they just wanted to make sure I would have the support at home and stuff.  But apparently they have a bigger part, much bigger.  He says he takes in the whole picture of my life, physical and mental.  And he wanted to know the reasons why I want to lose the weight and what I expected from the surgery.  He also asked what did I think the most challenging part would be after the surgery.  And what changes that I was making now that would help for later. At the end of the appointment he leaned back and told me I am all ready for this surgery and had a good expectation of it.  He said it would most likely take a year and a half to two years to lose 100 lbs.

So I was very please with both appointments and am looking forward to my others.

I did find out while I was in with the nurse that I can't have the dietitians appointment before I have the nutrition class because she asks what I have learned at the class.  So my Class got switched to Jan 25 and then my last two appointments are still on Feb 6.

I'm getting very excited!!  I am so ready for this.
