Garth Davis, M.D.
When I first met Dr. Garth it was for a consultation and then again for my pre-operative visit prior to surgery. I truly view him as friendly, a little down to earth with a confidence air to himself. His staff is welcoming and efficient, they are supportive and work hard to address your concerns. I never really experinced any problems with his services, besides a run-in I had with a staff member, but that was resolved due to their wonderful customer service. If seeking for a Doctor: selecting Dr. Garth would be a great choice, he's a well known Doctor who has been adknowledge for his skill set. Evenmore, has operated as one of the Surgeons on Discoverey Channel's \"BIG MEDICINE\", he's perfectly capable of doing a stellar job. Dr. Garth doesn't specifically emphasize aftercare but his staff and all the information your provided does, it's important that you educate yourself beyond what the Doctor requires you to know. What I value about Dr. Garth is that he was right up front about some of the risks that can come with having the RNY procedure but also positive in highlighting the benefits that came with it as well. From a scale 1-10 I would rate him an 8, he could use a little more humor in the office...Lol. Overall, when it comes to surgical competence and bed side manner, both are high on my list and from what I've been told and soon to know for myself, Dr. Garth is all of that and more.

HELLO "ALL" IT'S BEEN A MINUTE RIGHT. I HAVE BEEN SO BUSY WITH "LIFE" IN GENERAL AND HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO POST AND KEEP YOU GUYS IN THE LOOP ON MY WLS JOURNEY. I'M TRULY HAPPY WITH MY SUCCESS AND OVEALL TRANSFORMATION; I HAVEN'T FELT THIS GOOD AND POSTIVE ABOUT MY SELF-IMAGE IN A LONG TIME. THE OUTLOOK THAT I HAD ON HEALTHY LIFESTLYE AND WEIGHT, DIFFERS FROM WHEN I WAS IN MY TEEN YEARS. NOW I EMBRACE THE BEAUTY OF WHAT BEING HEALTHY FEELS AND LOOKS LIKE "FOR ME". IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT A SEXY BODY BUT RATHER LOVING THE SKIN I'M IN, BE IT A SIZE 5/6 OR 16. IT’S IMPORTANT TO BUILD A "SACRED PLACE" WHERE YOU HAVE COME FROM, MIND, BODY AND SOUL. THEIR WILL BE TIMES THAT YOU WILL FORGET BUT IF YOU CAN GO BACK TO THAT SACRED PLACE, IT WILL PUT YOU IN REMEMBERANCE OF YOUR PAIN, "SO TO SPEAK". IN THE BEGINNING IT WAS ABOUT ME BUT NOW IT’S ALL ABOUT OTHERS, THAT’S WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS JOURNEY MOST. IF I COULD CHANGE ANYTHING, IT WOULD BE ME DOING THIS SUGERY A LOT SOONER. TRULY IT WAS JUST MY SEASON OF CHANGE, IT COULN’T HAVE COME DURING A BETTER TIME IN MY LIFE. I’M AFRESHED AND FEELING BRAND NEW. My Story

Hi, I'm ladyShay and I've been overweight for quite some time. My coming into the knowledge that I was a large girl, reaches far back as 5th grade. I can remember being the biggest among most of my peers, growing up "OW" had it's challenges, just as it does today; provided that the hurtful senarios are different as you mature througout the years. During 2005 I had just hopped on the wave of considering Bariatric surgery, I was at my largest weight ever; and really unhappy with how I'd let myself go. I was full of expectation to only be crushed that my Insurance excluded it out of our medical plan. So with that before me, I decided to go on my own WLS plan. Within 3 1/3 months I had lost over 37 pounds, I was feelin good and focused. I kept the weight off for another 6 months, yo-yoing between 5 and 10 pounds. My intial weight loss was a good thing but it was for all the wrong reasons, therfore the weight gain was definite to come back. Its been almost 3 years since my brief moment of success and I have yet to get my weight under control. I'm now "260", 25pds heavier than I was since the intial loss. I have spent the last year trying to get the Bariatirc Surgery and now I have an oppurtunity to for that dream to come to pass. My Insurance will cover the procedure, I just have to attend 6 months of consecutive nutrition classes. So truly my Journey has began, I'm 2 months down with 4 months of classes to go. I now realize that my body is a gift that God was given to me and I want to spend my remainging years enjoying that gift. So as I continue my journey to weight loss , I invite you to come along with me and unwrap the layes of fat that have hidden the real me. Thank for listening.
