Post op from ankle surgery
on July 2, 2008 6:26 am
Well, I am 2 days post of from my 4th ankle surgery, and I am doing O.K., considering I fell on the floor when I got home from the Hospital.  My leg was totally numb from the nerve block, and I tried to get up, and down I went.  I don't think I hurt anything, but only time will tell.

I don't know if my Weight loss is going O.K. or not, because I have this darned cast on my leg.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Hmm, not as much weightloss as I anticipated?
on June 27, 2008 6:09 am
Well, I am 2 1/2 months post op, and I have only lost 35 pounds.  Ughhh!!  I knew I would lose slowly, considering this is my second wls.  but darn it, I wanted to at least lose 45 pounds by July 10th, well, we will see.

I am having my 4th, yes I said 4th surgery Monday on my ankle, this year has been crazy!  Seems I have a Screw Loose!  Who'd a thunk it?  Hopefully they get it right this time.

One Week Post Op
on April 17, 2008 3:51 pm
Well, I went back to the doc today for my one week checkup.  I have officially lost 13.5 lbs in one week.  WoW!!!  My pain has subsided some, still there, but way more tolerable than before.

I got my Drainage tube removed, and he wants to wait another week to remove the staples.  Fine with me.

So, if you get anything out of this from me, just know that even though you go through a lot of pain at first, it does get better.  Plus, I feel so much better.

Home from Hospital
on April 15, 2008 7:01 am
Well, I got out of the Hospital yesterday.  I am hurting so bad.  I was in the ICU in the hospital because of being a higher risk.  The nurses there are Fantabulous!  Even though I was the only patient in that area.  LOL...

I am having trouble moving  around.  I have pain on my left side where my drain tube is, and also on my right side.  I have been able to keep everything down.  Good Thing, cause I couldn't bend to throw up if I had to.

1 day to go!!!
on April 9, 2008 9:58 am
Well I just got a call from my doc's office, and they want me in at 5:30 A.M.  wow that's early, not that I will be able to sleep anyway....  They still want to do a Chest
X-Ray and EKG before surgery.

I plan on having a great meal today, even though, it is 1:00 P.M.  I haven't eaten a thing.  LOL...

I am not as scared as I was, but My hubby was reading the info from the Doc's office, you know the one that says You could Die from this Surgery?  He is worried worse than me.

I trust my surgeon, and I am not ready to die yet, That is why I am having the surgery, I want to LIVE AGAIN without the bad health, I want to walk up a flight of stairs, cross my legs, wear my wedding band, etc...

I know that God will Guide the surgeon's hands with precision so that I can lead  a healthy happy life.

My Story

It's January 29th, 2008.  I am 271 pounds, and in the process of having my second Weightloss Surgery.  I had the lap band on 5/29/03, and had to have it removed 9/29/06.  I am at my highest weight ever.  I fell on February 18th, 2007, and broke my ankle and leg causing me to have 3 different surgeries and spend most of my year in a wheelchair or walking cast.  Because of my obesity, my bones don't want to heal.  I am currently on a CPAP machine at night, have Acid Reflux, and several other conditions due to my weight.

I have completed all my requirements needed to send to insurance except the 2 months of supervised weightloss attempts in the last year because of my inability to get to the doc because I can't drive with a cast on my right foot.

I go for my second month the first of February, and am praying that God will help me to get approved for the Rouex en Y this time.  I am a slight risk due to the scar tissue on my stomach from the prior surgery.

This time, I have chosen Dr. Mark Shina.  he has performed over 2000 weightloss surgeries and is highly qualified.

I plan on doing a step by step detail of my journey as I try to become healthy again.

I hope to get to know others who have been through a similar situation as mine.
