Surgeon Testimonial

Nilesh Patel
I was very impressed the first time I met him. He is straight forward and to the point. He answers all of your questions but he doesn't make you feel like you're rushing him. He gives these seminars and you meet with him one on one on the day of the seminar. You can also do your psych eval and your nutrition consult all in the same day (if you don't have anything else to do). He does everything he can to get the surgery done for you. He knows a lot about insurance and will tell you everything you need for their approval. He is always available to you. All you have to do is e-mail him and he will get back with you the same day. It's really nice to have a doctor you can talk to if you have any concerns about anything.

3 years out. Seems sooooo long ago now.  I am such a different person now.  And it has nothing to do with the weight. The spiritual journey I have travelled, I NEVER saw coming. And I have barely scratched the surface. For all you who are pre-op and 1 year or less post op, remember you have to create good eating habits. The first 1-2 years the weight is gonna fall off, no matter what. So the habits you create in that time are essential to your long term success. I have fallen off the wagon and gained back more that I wanted to, but I have asked GOD for his help. Something I never did before.  I know with his help I will get back on the right track and become the healthy, successful person I am meant to be. I will post pictures when I get back down to where I am happy again. Hopefully it won't be another year.

It's so hard to believe it's been 2 years since my rebirth.  So much has changed and I have changed in ways I never imagined when I started this journey. I have not yet reached my goal weight. In fact I have gained some in the last 2-3 months. I've gotten a little off track. But I have rededicated myself to doing the right things. I purchased some personal training sessions so that I can get back into my workout groove.  And hopefully I can lose that last 35 pounds in the next 4 months. I need to take pictures and I will post them as soon as I can. On the bright side, I bought a swim suit (1 piece) a couple of months ago. It is a size 10 and it actually fits. I was so excited. I have never been this size in all of my adult life and I refuse to go back to what I used to be.

I am down 111 lbs and 76 inches. It has slowed down a lot. The scale doesn't seem to move as much but the clotes are still getting bigger. Sooooooo frustrating. I don't think I have much more to lose though. I am happy with the way I look now with the exception of a little loose skin here and there . But anyway, the journey continues.

I am now down 105 lbs and 71.25 inches.  How unbelievable is that? 11 more pounds and I will have graduated from obese to just overweight.  I am wearing a size 12 pants and M/L tops. I still look at the clothes in my closet and can't believe I can actually fit them. I haven't gotten used to not having to go to the big girls section in the store. I always go there first. I have been going through some old pictures and I  cannot believe I was ever that big. I am sooo excited because I am going to see Jaime Foxx tonight. Of course I will be taking pictures, so I'll post them soon.

Wow. I can't believe it's been a year already. Sooooooooooo much has happened. I have lost 101 lbs and 67.5 inches.  I am now wearing a 12/14 instead of a 26/28. I have matured in ways I didn't expect.  And I have become a stronger person physically, emotionally and spirtually. I have learned so much about myself and I am on my way to becoming the person I was meant to be. I am so glad I did this.
