Surgeon Testimonial

Charles Garner
I researched and looked at several different surgeons. When I met Dr. Garner I knew he was the man to do my surgery. He is caring, informative, professional and knowledgable. The biggest thing I liked about him is that he is totally honest. He spends the time to talk to you, not in a rush to get to the next patient. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to get weight lost surgery. I also want to commend Dr. Garner's staff. They are all very caring and professional. They treated me with care and respect.

First Fill and 4&1/2 Weeks Post-op
on September 30, 2008 2:25 pm
Today I got my first fill of 1.5 cc. No problems.

But the real news is that I have lost 21 pounds. Weeeee. I'm really great and beginning to get alittle energy back into my life. Slowly but surely.

I still do not regret my decision to get the Lap Band done. I see a future of health ahead of me.

TWO WEEKS POST OP
on September 11, 2008 1:21 pm
Two weeks out. Almost feeling normal. Starting eating soft foods without any problems. Love milk now, skim of course. My work environment is very supportive. So far it's been a great experience. The Lap Band an incredible device. I go see the surgeon at the end of the month to see if I need a fill.

Two days post op
on August 29, 2008 4:34 am
This morning woke up with headache and feeling like I had been beat up. So, I really needed alittle coffee. Had half a cup with a half cup of skim milk. Yeah, it did the trick.
I know each day will get better. Being uncomfortable will be a small price for a healthier, happier "me".

Yes. I did it. Alittle sore right now but so far so good. SIpped lots of water. No regrets.

My Story

I have been healthy. I have been unhealthy. I have been in shape and now very out of shape. So, here's my story. I am retired from the Navy. Most of that time I was within my BMI. Of course, it was up and down but never so up that I couldn't get it down. After retiring I was healthier than ever and at a weight that was good for me. What happen? Started over eating. Slowly. Then the yo-yo diets started. About six years ago I changed jobs and my stress level increased. I began eating more and more and before I knew it I had ballooned to a weight that is impossible to get off with dieting. In 2006 I started researching WLS options. I went to seminars, read literature, and talked to people who had surgery. I turned 50 and told myself that was the year. Nope. I could lose weight on my own. I tried, believe me I tried. A year and a half later I decided I would have the Lap Band. That I was worth it.
