Today is the day that you take a stand against the disease called Obesity . Much respect is to be given to you !! Many people do not get the chance nor do they have the courage to stand up and have this most life saving surgery ... You are about to embark on a journey unlike any other . There will be days you feel a failure .. your not .. these are just do over day's . There will be wow moment days .. where you are on top of the world ... My only advices to you are this .. Keep it real .. this is not rocket science .. but it is a daily health managment on your part . Stay positive .. make each day about you .. it has to be for the first 18 months .. in order to be successful . Love yourself no matter what . Look in the mirror each day and love who you are .. this surgery does not fix our hearts .. but it does offer a tool to get us healty ... I wish you nothing but sweet success .. know that you are loved and many people are routing for you today ... Best wishes .. and here is to a long healthy life !! Natalie

Thanks Jackie, I'm really looking forward to the surgery and the new me to come. I live in Fredericksburg but work in Fairfax, at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, which is also where I am having my surgery. The support group sounds great.

Michael -good luck for your upcoming surgery - it will be the best thing you ever did for yourself! My friend Sue and I run a support group in Fredericksburg on the third Wednesday of every month. Please come and join us after surgery to get support and any questions you may have answered - you do not have to go through this alone. I will send out invitations about a week beforehand - I realise you may not feel like coming in July but please join us in August. If you ever need advice or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I am sure you will do just great on the 10th! Jackie

Michael, Have the Greatest Ever on the 10th!! It’s good to see more guys out here on Obesity Help. We make up a small minority of the people having Weight Loss Surgery, but tend to lose down quicker and with fewer hassles than the women due to Male Physiology. I’m just dropping by to let you know that there’s a huge crowd of strangers out here pulling for you and holding you in our prayers. May you have a famously successful surgery and a record-breaking recovery! Be nice to the nurses, Enjoy the drugs when you can, and most importantly, hurry home and start walking away from those pounds and into a new Life! Best Wishes-
