Nissim Geron At first I was sceptical as I was really hoping to have my surgery (revision) in Jerusalem but after the original surgeon cancelled my op, I was back on the search.
When I returned, Dr. Geron was direct and honest about the risks in this being my 3rd WLS yet comforting at the same time.
The office staff is nice . My only problem was that I needed the secretary (and the surgeon was on vacation) and she was out due to a family death. But when Dr. Geron returned, I met with him in his office -and not his clinic.
People in Israel needing a revision should know about him and his hospital. Not everyone should have to go only to a hospital in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem to get quality care. It also exists in the northern part of the country.
I have my 2nd appointment after surgery coming up. As my incisioned opened to a seroma, I am seeing him one week after release from hospital and then two weeks later.
When in hospital, the dietician sat with me for more than half an hour privately while I was hospitalized explaining and answering my questions.
The surgical ward is smaller than some other hospitals I had visited. This contributed to a "family" atmosphere between patients and nurses and even the doctors. If a patient happened to be out of the room during Rounds, a doctor would find them and motion for them to return to their room. Nothing was done in rebuke.

Pesach Week I survived the "religious" weekend and ate barely a half a piece of matza and altogether one cup of grape juice at the Seder. I did have minor episodes of vomiting but after email contact with my surgeon (and I'm due to see him only May 5th), it was suggested that my vomiting could be as a result of not chewing well enough, eating too much, or an ulcer in or near the pouch. Advised to talke Losec and or do endoscopy with surgeon present. As I have Omapradex at home, I have begun to take it at least once a day and, B"H (Thank G-D) the past three days I have not vomited at all.
The Pesach foods can be quite enticing to the palete and I have indulged in small amounts.
Today I went to my GP to get the results of the 24 Hour Urine results and to arrange for blood tests after the holiday. I also weighed myself on the calibrated scale. I was so afraid that I had gained but B"H I lost and now weigh 90 Kilo. A slow loss - but always a loss. I am aware that I am not following exactly the "do's and don'ts"of WLS. However I went into this surgery because of the GERD I was experi-encing and suffering. Anything I lose would be and is a bonus. I hope I will learn more proper eating habits for life and whatever I lose will stay off forever.
