Surgeon Testimonial

Peter Frederick Crookes M.D., F.R.C.S., F.A.C.S.
First met Dr Crookes in January of 2007 at the USC seminars. Knew instantly he was the Doctor for me. a no nonesense approach who demanded his patients know what they want and why they want it. You need to be fully aware of your responibilties and the risk. You can not be in better in hand than Dr Crookes, hes amazing. The hospital staff was great the PACE people make sure you are well informed and USC even has a support group that meets ever month that is run by the RN and dietician from the bariatric dept. His staff(ESPI) even got my insurance to pay for my VSG, which is pretty rare these days. You will be very pleased you chose USC and Dr Crookes, he saved my life

Wednesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. Reflections after 6 months and 133LBS
on December 5, 2008 8:15 am
WOW already 6 months post-op where has the time and weight gone.
Its been an amazing journey so far. theres so many things I am doing now that I would have never done pre-op it great but sad knowing there many people out there who haven't been exposed to joys of post-op life. You see walking by or wheeling and want to run up and tell them about your jouorney, but common sense sets in quickly and you don't want to embarass them so you don't.

Things that have improved in six months.......
I am far more involved in my kids life,no more sitting at home and thinking about it. I go to every game/event am active in the football program, doing one of the team photogs and designated drivers for the kids. Two of kids teachers called me Mr Fundraiser, I have done alot of work there for several programs at schools.

I am off the cpap completely and I am sleeping far better in my own bed. Accordingh to the wife I am not snoring much and some nights not at all, so shes sleeping better too.

Sex is FAR better and more frequent, wife says its almost like she cheating me with the NEW ME.Shes loving this as well

I am walking 2-3 miles a day. I also ride the bike 4-5 miles 2-4 times a week. Play raquetball 1-2 times a week with my son.

I am able to buy clothes in normal stores for FAR FAR less money than Casual (Whale) male. I love shopping for clothes and finding shirts for cheap now.

No more fears of planes, restaurants or cars.No more seatblet extenders. I fit in all boothes and any car now. This was a biggie pre-op since I fly for work and take clients to lunch on a regular basis.

People in general are nicer and will now make eye contact and give you a HI and smile when walking by. I have been hit on a few times too, weird.

The list is endless and grows on a daily basis, you get the idea. Life is just so much better after WLS

The biggest things how supportive everyone has been all the family friends and clients are amazed at the changes even after they haven't seen me for just few weeks. The ones that haven't seen since WLS don't even recognize me anymore, it fun to play them most of all.
