I was introduced to this site on 12/29/07 by a former classmate.  Most of my time since then has been spent on here.  Of course, that will change once school is back in session but for now, I'm hooked.  I have been inspired by viewing before and after pictures and visiting various pages.  Many of my fears and concerns have been calmed.

I am just beginning my journey to a healthier me.  So far, I have consulted with the nutritionist, had several pre-op tests completed, others scheduled, and I have an appointment on January 10th to meet with Dr. Singh.  I am exctied and nervous.

I am a 33 year old wife and mother of 2 beautiful girls.  I have been overweight ALL of my life.  Ok, not all.  The first 2 years I was average size for my age.  But after that, I went from average to fat, obese, morbidly obese, and according to the BMI calculator, super morbidly obese.  I rarely share my weight, my husband doesn't even know the exact number.  However, right now, it's do or die time.  And so, my journey begins...Watch out world!

Random Observations
I've noticed that...
1.  when I sleep on my side, my knees hurt because the fleshy flesh is gone.  It's very uncomfortable.
2.  when I see someone I haven't seen in a while, they just stare but don't say anything about the weightloss.
3.  my face seems much longer and my nose much bigger as the pounds drop.  I'm still cute though:-)
4.  people really are telling the truth when they say that can't see a big change in their bodies after a big weight drop.  I see it in my face but my body still looks and feels the same to me.  I can tell with my clothes size changing though.  I bought a L (12/14) shirt from Walmart and a 16/18 dress.
5.  everytime I bend over, my girls pop out.  I guess that means it's time for new bras.

With all that being said, I am so blessed to have an opportunity such as this.  I wouldn't change it for anything.  God Bless!

I am 20 pounds from my 100 lb. weight loss mark.  Yeah me!  If I could get to the gym, I'm sure it would go much faster.  I am going back this week.  I have 2 make time some kind of way.

I was stuck at 250 for about a wk and a half.  This morning, the scale said 247.  Praise God!  I returned to work today after summer break.  It's nice to get back into the swing of things.  I am going to try to have my classroom set up and functional by Thursday so that I can rest on Friday.  We'll see.  It never works out like that.

It's Official...

I'm down 60 lbs.  I can't believe it.  I've read where some people have lost much more than that in their first 3 1/2 months but I am satisfied with what I've lost.  My long-term goal is defintely within reach:-)  God is so good.

My Story

Where, oh where, to begin.   Let's see.  When I was younger, I remember the pediatrician telling my mom that if she didn't do something to control my weight, that I would be 200 pounds by 16.  At 16, I weighed in at 200 lbs.  The most weight I've lost at 1 time was 50 lbs.  That was in 2000.  I started at about 299 and went down to 249 using a low carb diet and plenty of exercise.  Not long after the weight was off, I got pregnant.  I gained every pound back plus some.  It took 3 years to get back down to about 280 lbs.  And guess what, I got pregnant again.  I found myself back up to 300 lbs.  A year later, I lost 20 lbs., back down to 280.  And got pregnant AGAIN but I had a miscarraige.  I vowed that before I lost another pound, I was either getting my tubes tied or my husband had to have a vesectomy.  We opted for the latter.  With 2 c-sections under my belt, it was his turn.  He missed a day of work and was at the movies with his brother the night he had the procedure.   I would have been barely able to move and out of work for about 6 weeks.   Men have all the luck.  Well, between 2004 and now, I have lost and gained and lost and gained.  Usually only 20lbs either way.  It has been a roller coaster ride and I want off.

On December 11, 2007, I hit my all time high (or low) at 312 lbs.  I felt HORRIBLE.  On December 20th, I was down to 307, with the help of phentermine.  I'm sure I've gained some of that back over this winter break.  I go back to my pcp on January 8th.  I will update my weight then.  Ok, a new alI time high was hit when I went back up to 314 lbs. in April.
