To be honest I am a little apprehensive about all this.  I am a nurse and my specialty is Patient Safety. 

I am a little over a month into a 3-month multidisciplinary program to prepare for surgery.  One moment I want it tomorrow and the next - I need the time.

Family is supportive, husband even went to the seminar with me. Have a son and daughter and 5 grandkids.

Biggest challenge is I fly across the country almost every week. Client meals and no exercise routine.  I have decided they are excuses and I am working hard on overcoming them.

If all goes well I hope to have surgery in mid November.  Ready....set.......

Two fills in to this but not at sweet spot.  Some restriction - still can eat larger portions and still eat too fast.

Did complete a 5k on the treadmill yesterday.  Really had a sweat going.

No changes in clothing lately.  Had gained back a few pounds.  Really have to work harder at getting water intake higher,

Need a haircut but also probably need a new hairdresser.  I am keeping my grey but want it fresher. 

My face is showing weight loss - even I can see it.  Overall things are moving in the right direction just slow - and only I can speed it up.

Only went a a little over during the holidays but ate way too much.  Have done so well the past few months but I am still in bandster hell and I am always hungry - or at least thunk I am.  Get my first fill on Jan 18th.  He was out of appt with all the surgeries he was able to fit in and the end of the year for patients and I have six trips planned in January.

I used to give chemo through ports and wish I could do my own fills - but I will behave.  I know better.

I really need to increase my workouts - and decrease the crap calories.

My Story

Have always liked that I was born in the mid 1950's.  Have lived through some amazing times.

Was the runt in the family - and a middle child of six - 3 girls (middle) and three boys.  Stayed the smallest until I hit around 30.  But got the weight off with WW and made lifetime.  It came back - many times and many more pounds.

I am about five feet tall and 228 pounds. Solid.  Hate it. Have asthma, crappy lungs and high BP. 

Have had to have 8 fasciotomies for exercise induced compartment syndrome - but REFUSED to let it stop me. 

I did more than fifteen 5K's, a few 10k's and four half marathons.  All with my weight between 175 and 228,.  I mostly walked them - and mostly finished last.  Even with this much activity - the scale did not budge.

I figure I don't have a lot of years left for being as active as I want to be - so I am have chosen WLS to help.
 
I play golf every week (that is a golfer that hit a bad shot as my avatar).
