My Story

My name is Kate, I am 52 years old and HAPPILY MARRIED 33+ years to my wonderful husband.  We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

Bad, bad habits got me where I am today.  When I was younger, chasing after my children, teaching aerobics, nursing; I could eat anything I wanted and not gain weight.  Then the kids grew up, and I got a desk job, and my back hurt, and my feet hurt and I stopped caring, and I still ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. And I gained and gained and gained the weight.  I jave sleep apnea, high blood pressure, asthma, osteo arthritis, bladder incontinence, plantar fasciitis, a cyst on my ovary and hypothiroidism.

So now, I am ready .  "I don't want to spend my life wasted, to wake up one morning and find, that I let all these years go by, wasted.'
I am 52.  There is still life left in me.  I can do this (jump start with wt loss surgery).  So much I still want to do.  I am fairly active now, but looking forward to my new life!  I don't ever want to worry again if the canoe I am in will start to take on water because of my weight.  The other day, I sat in the chair at doctor's office to have blood drawn.  Oops, it didn't feel like I was going to fit!  Well I squeezed into it anyway, but wasn't sure if I would get out again.  Just awful!  Maybe that + the weigh in at 253 lbs was what I needed to wake up.  That + hubby just had a battle with prostate cancer, and won!  We talked and he is on board with me, finally.  We have 1st appointment scheduled with Nurse, Tuesday November 22, 2011.  We are both ready for change and to start our new life.

Lord, you alone know what is best for me.  Bless me and guide me, so that whatever path I take I can do it all for Your Glory!
