Mel, I know that your date came and went, but I still wanted to show my support. That does not mean that you weren't in my thoughts and prayers. May you have a speedy recovery and let the melting begin. John

2 YEARS!!!
on May 27, 2009 12:00 am

Golly...Where does the time go!! 2 years-it sure doesn't seem it. It has been a wonderful time so far. I am at 147#, size 10 and very happy with that. Memorial weekend I rode my bike 28 miles on Sat. Not bad for the first time out. I usually walk 3-4 miles a day, at least 5 days a week.
Last post, I had broken my finger-had surgery, and 7 weeks off work cuz they didn't have light duty. I was off from July 18 to Sept 4. What a wonderful summer that was. I really had little to no pain--just limitations of my hand. I did get back on my motorcycle but sold it as I felt it was too big for me. I did get another- Yamaha 400 special which we are fixing up. I will ride again...just alittle hesitant but I want to get over that.
Another great thing in my life is passing the registry for my job. I do echocardiograms and am now registered--passed 2 nasty nasty tests and can now put RDCS after my name. So glad that's behind me.
One of my goals this summer is to attempt to waterski. (Think I can I break something and get the summer off again?)
I really like fruit now. That is something I didn't eat much of before. It is so good to take along an apple of orange to eat on a bike ride or after hiking. We have some wonderful bike/hike trails in our area.
As for my body, I guess it could be worse. I have not looked into plastic surgery but will probably within the next year. I would like a breast lift/reduction although I have gone from 44 DDD to 36 DD, they are not where they are supposed to be if you get my drift! Would also like a tummy tuck but not sure insurance would cover that. Guess I'll learn once I get to that point.
To those waiting surgery--DO IT--IT IS SOOOO WORTH IT. Find a good support group and start going NOW. You will get answers to questions you didn't know you had.
To those having surgery anniversaries--CONGRATULATIONS!
To my surgeons, staff, support group, surgical team--THANKS A MILLION!
