Surgeon Testimonial

John Huse
I went for my initial consultation with Dr. Huse. He is everything I had anticipated after reading the posts on this site. He was very businesslike. By the time he came to have the one-on-one with me I could not think of any questions. After I left of course I had plenty of questions. I guess I anticipated that he would go over my medical records more indepth than he did and then give me some educated guess if he anticipated the insurance company to approve or deny my surgery. When I did ask if he thought they would he said he was not familiar with my insurance and that they automatically appeal any insurance decision.

Hi Sue - Just wanted to send my congrats and also my prayers to you on your upcoming surgery. I have my consultation with Doc Huse on June 5th. I also wondered if surgery was the right thing to do and as you, I want my life back. I want to walk the malls without having to sit down because of back and knee pain...and the only way to do this is to lose weight...which I have tried. I am sooooooo looking forward to talking with Doc Huse. Good luck to you and keep in touch. I live in Wabash and my email is cowgirlhoney2001@yah oo.com. God Bless, Janene

Hello All,
I am a 54 year old grandma that is married for almost 36 years to her best friend and confidant. I feel like this process is taking forever but it has only been 6 months now and not the years otjers have had to endure. The paperwork has been sent to the insurance company that made requests in January. The big snow storm of 2007 struck and it put some of the medical tests and appointments on hold until everyone got dug out.

I don't know if this is right
on November 22, 2006 7:06 am
I am not sure I am making the correct decision. I know I have to do something because I don't like the way I feel. I am so afraid I won't be able to maintain the diet for the rest of my living years. which won't be many if I don't do something. I don't want to regain any lost weight like I have in all my previous attempts at weight loss.

My Story

I have been overweight since I was at least 8 years old. I have at times lost some of the weight only to regain it again. I am now diabetic taking 4 different medicines in an attempt to gain a normal blood sugar level. I have hypertension that is somewhat controlled but has caused me to have atrial fibrillation along the way. My family doctor has encouraged me to esplore the possibilities of bariatric surgery because he believes that I can never lose the amount of weight I need to have a lifestyle I desire while I am on my diabetes medication. He believes that it is a vicious circle, I eat to maintain my blood sugar and my medicines then in turn make me gain weight. I am at my wits end not knowing what to do. I don't want to take all those medicines. I want to be able to walk without discomfort, without aching all the time. I want to be able to run again. I want to feel like I did when I was half the age I am now with alot of those same desires.
