Truth From a Child :-)

My mother celebrated her 89th birthday on Sunday with the entire Colorado family - myself, my family - my sister, her family.  Total of  16 people!  We have a great family :-)

My brother-in-law Gary told me when I walked in " I didn't recognize you".  What a sweetheart he is. I got lots of compliments from my sister's family since it had been a few months since we have seen each other. My sister Carol and Gary were there for my surgery and gave me great support at the hospital and it was great support to my daughter Suzanne who would have been alone waiting and she was nervous about the WLS.

Getting back to the birthday party.  I was talking to my niece Cara and her 6 yr old son Tegan came up - I asked him for my hug and he gave it to me freely.  We have become close since he was born.  I went to talk to other members of the family and Tegan asked his mom who I was!!!  Talk about out of the mouth of babes - guess I do look a little different.  Thank God!!!  It was also easy to pass up the birthday cake after that terrific compliment.

I pray daily for this wonderful opportunity of Lap RNY and no longer taking diabetic meds, high cholesterol meds and acid reflux meds.  I have lost 60 lbs in 4 mos - something that would be impossible to do in my old life.
