My prayers will be with you as you go through the surgery and recovery. May your strength be restored; your recovery be swift and your tender heart be renewed.

Welcome to my Profile.

Where do I begin, let's see.  Well, I'm nearly 42 or I will be in two weeks 1/9/07.  I've been married for 17 1/2 years to my wife Laura who I started dating in our last year of High School in 1983.  Yes.  I told you I am old.    We've had our ups and downs like anyone else, and I do not deserve her, but the ups and downs make us stronger.  There isn't much we can't do.

We have two kids.  Caitlin and Anthony, who are 14 and 10 respectively and will probably cause me to lose my mind at some point.  But they are fun.   I also have 3 dogs.  Morgan, Jake and Buddy.

I had Surgery on 7/1/03, which I also consider a birth date.  RNY by the way.  -165lbs and I am still working off the rest.

I own my own law practice, whidh normally I like.  I handle litigation cases (trial work) and insurance appeals, lawsuits.   I really like the insurance stuff, because while the pay is low, the rewards are great.  I love getting people approved, and I love making friends from clients.

I am also a JAG Attorney in the New York Guard where I am a second Lieutenant.  I'm also a former volunteer firefighter and currently volunteer on a private search and rescue team.

That's about it.  I'm going to try to keep this current, though I have a blog on my website that I update often.  So, thanks for stopping by.

My Story

I came to find out about Bariatric Surgery in a very strange way.  In September 2001 I was a volunteer with the American Red Cross.  During the World Trade Center disaster on 9/11 I was assigned to work at Ground Zero.  After several days I was reassigned to family services, where I traveled to the homes of people affected by the tragedy and spoke with widows and widowers for several weeks.  While working with the Project Liberty Center it was eventually recommended to me that I look into the Hospitals weight loss program.  I was 38 years old, and while I had no co-morbidities, I was on my way to certain death.  Having gone through a RNY Gastric Bypass on July 1, 2003 I have lost 165lbs.  I am happier and healthier then ever.  My family and I bike ride together and my healthy attitude has trickled down to them as well. 3/18/04 I have been getting requests for an updated profile with pictures, lol, since I have so many clients whose appeals I am handling I figured I'd post some. Just testing this right now to see if this is how I update my profile. If so, I am 8 months out and down 140lbs. I had some problems in the first month but I would do it again.

5/23/04 bought new suits finally. My wife has been pestering me. I'll be a year post op July 1 but I am still losing slowly and have become a gym rat. I used to wear a size 22 dress shirt. When the tailor measured my neck and told me 18's would be alittle loose a laughed. I came right home and tried them on and they are. Amazing.

Feb 2007 still plugging along, losing what I kinda regained.  I think Dr. Garber and his support staff are awesome and thank them for their support.  Finally, I can bring this anemia under control
