My long overdue Break-Up with FOOD
on May 4, 2011 1:10 pm
I need the get back to being just acquaintances with food. “Hey, food, how’ve you been?” Food needs to go back to being just for nutrition. I no longer want to enjoy food’s company.

My Story

I am a young (but old enough) woman who has always had issues with eating and my weight. I have always been “chunky” but really started to gain weight when I started 9th grade (high school is stress city). I know what my food issues are, but have difficulties controlling myself. I have dieted in the past and have always had success out of the gate, but eventually something (like a bad day or pms) always succeeded in convincing me to veer from my path and cheat, which ultimately would lead to falling completely off the wagon and putting all the weight I had lost (and then some) back on. I hit 311lbs, which is the heaviest I have ever been. I had Lap-Band surgery on June 21st, 2011, and I feel like this may be my last chance to turn back and be the ME I know is inside of all the rolls. I am staying positive and trying my hardest to stay on track and keep my nose to the grindstone....hey, I lost 19lbs within the first 2 weeks! That is definitely a great motivator...Here's to many many more weeks of consistent weight loss..
I will turn 30 a year an almost 2 months after my surgery, so my goal is to be down enough by then to have something to really celebrate (not that my birthday alone isn't enough) and to look DAMN GOOD while doing so...
