Surgeon Testimonial Michael Melkonian, M.D. I met with Dr. Melkonian yesterday for my pre-op visit and liked him very much. I didn't think he was at all \"impersonable\" like some of the other posters. He was kind and compassionate and at the same time, very knowledgable and confident in the job he does. My name is Carrie and I have been overweight basically since I was 10. I had about 3 years in late high school/early college that I felt like "normal" and am looking forward to feeling "normal" again!! I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children and live in beautiful Western NC. We've lived here for about 6 years and I absolutely love it! The only thing that could make it better would be if we were closer to family. I'm lucky to have two great sets of in-laws (my husband's parents divorced and remarried when he was very young) and wonderful grandparents to my children. I'm grateful for my wonderful family everyday.
