So I talked with state and signed up for medicaid again ..even though I'm already on it..as I guess if you qualify.. medicaid will pay for co-pays and the monthly premiums for medicare. I also signed up for the orientation class at Good Samaritan in Portland Oregon and at the same time asked how long the waiting period is at their hospital.. she said after the orientation class .. usually within 2 to 3 months you'll have your surgery!! I've been on UW's list for 1 1/2 yrs! I havent called UW and told them about the insurance changes yet either.. dont want to lose my spot there just in case. Wish I had had the medicare back then.. I wouldnt be so confused and I would be a lot closer to my goals right about now. So.. even with all my worrying.. it seems that Medicare could be a good thing I hope. Time will only tell!

Now What!

Well tonight I am a bit discouraged and confused because of insurance reasons. I have been on Medicaid for 2 1/2 yrs through DSHS and on the waiting list with UW in Seattle WA for 1 !/2 yrs. I just got my call from UW and the paper work sent in for approval with Medicaid. Now tonight I get a letter from Social Security and I am now on the disabled list.. but I now will have Medicare for insurance. So now i'm like.. now what?? How long will I be on a list again? Where can I have surgery with Medicare? Will it pay for the surgery?? Although I have seen in the list of insurers it looks like its a bit easier to get approved by Medicare.. I could be wrong though. So my thoughts tonight are all mixed up and confused and I'm having a bit of problems with my depression because of it. I think tomorrow I will go check with the state to see where I stand insurance wise.
