Just thought I should let you all know i'm home and alive. For those of you who sent kind words before and after surgery I want to thank you all it really meant a lot to me. As for how i'm doing... well...I had surgery Tuesday (24th) and everything went good and for that i'm very glad as I had alot of pre-surgery jitters. I got to come home Thursday only to have to go back to the hospital for extreme pain and neausea in the middle of my stomach. (which I'm still having) I havent really been able to eat much since I got home it just wants to come back up. They thought I had a gastronial bug that I might have caught during surgery...so they ran alot of blood test, cat scan to make sure stomach wasnt leaking.. chest xray etc.. and everything looked good they said. They put me on pain meds and some anti-neausea meds and they do help some what for a bit. I keep hoping i'll wake in the morning with this glourous outlook at having this surgery and I really envy the ones saying its been so great for them and how good they feel! I really want that feeling too right now! I go back to the doctor this week to see what he thinks. Just wanted to let you all know i'm home and alive and when i'm feeling better i'll come back and fill you all in with an update! Hope your all having a great weekend and thanks again for the kinds messages!
Well here I am and I cant believe that i'm actually getting to post these words FINALLY!! Yippeee!! In exactly 8 hrs from now at 7:30 am I will be at the Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital checking in for my long awaited Gastric Bypass Surgery!!! I cant believe it!! FINALLY after the 4 long years of jumping through hoops and long waiting lists.. its finally MY turn!! I never thought this day would get here and although i'm getting nervous and a bit scared, i'm also very excited, happy and SO ready at the same time! I never thought so many emotions could run through me at one tme! I'm so very anxious to see what this next year has in store for me and I'm so ready for the life changes this surgery is going to help make happen for me!!
So with that said I'm going to close this and wish you all a great week!
Wish me luck and I'll see you all on the Loser's Bench!!
Well surgery is now 11 days away and the butterflies are crawling around inside my stomach like crazy these days! So many things going on to keep me occupied and my mind off the days that it has been easy to forget for awhile. Monday June 2, 2008 I had oral surgery and had two back teeth removed.. during the process I think the dentist injured a nerve to my tongue and my taste buds as now everything taste disgusting. Only way to describe it is everything taste like gas or kerosene! YUCK! I guess the best part about it, it has kept me on track eating wise as I cant eat anything. The whole liquid diet thing will be a breeze for me! lol Although I did want to have a splurge day before surgery that wont be happening and in the long run its a good thing I guess! I have lost 15lbs now so the surgeon should be happy although they told me 5 to 10 lbs and said if I didnt lose it they would still go ahead with the surgery. But I feel good that I've lost it.. just not the way they wanted me to. I was suppose to be on a diet of 1/2 cup cottage cheese, fruit, yogurt/chicken or turkey. Then the 3 days before surgery i'm suppose to be on clear liquids which I'm finding isnt as hard to do as I thought it would be! June 3, 2008 I was blessed with a beautiful granddaughter who was 6lbs and 19 inches long by my youngest daughter. She's been a joy to spend time with and now have two beautiful granddaughters to share my time with! I also just found out my oldest daughter will be having a baby in December so once again i'll be grandma again! I love being a grandma!! So with the birth of my grandchild/grandchildren and my surgery the 24th.. this year is going to be full of new and exciting events in my life and I cant wait to enjoy each and every one of them!!
