Troy LaMar, M.D.
I met with Dr. LaMar recently and my first impression was that he seemed nice. He was ready to share all the information with me and he spent a lot of time with me, I didn't feel rushed. His office staff is outstanding. Everyone made me feel comfortable and Heidi did a great job explaining things to me. Dr. LaMar gave me all the risks and percentages of risks. He was extrememly honest which I loved. I will be able to add to this once I have a date and have the surgery.
9-2-07...Well just wanted to add that I think Dr. LaMar is awesome!! He has an excellent bedside manner and really cares about his patients. I had a hernia in January and he wasted no time getting this matter fixed and he is welcoming to your calls when you have questions. So is Pat the nurse in his office!!! I am grateful to this team!!!

  • Books & Literature - I love to read books. I am a teacher so I really enjoy reading to children.
  • Crafts - I also make flower pens and scrapbook.
  • Family & Friends - I have been married for almost 7 years and expecting our first child!
  • Fitness & Exercise - I try to stay very active in a variety of ways! I can't sit still!!
  • Cats - I have a black cat named Toby. He is so sweet!!!!
  • Teaching - This is my true passion. I can't imagine doing anything else.

August Support Group Date and Time

I hope your month  is going well!  I just wanted to send  out an email so everyone can mark their calendars for the next support group meeting! 

I hope you are all able to make it!!! You will receive another reminder about a week or so before the meeting.

Support Group Meeting July 22

Hello all who are interested!!

We will be having another support group meeting on July 22 at 6pm.

We will be meeting at Corner Bakery located at 3807 Foothill Blvd in Pasadena.

We usually will sit outside unless it is too hot, if it is too hot we will be inside. Don't worry if you can't order anything, the staff are very cool and never hassle us, I am in there often and they pretty much know me.

Hope to see everyone there!! If you have any suggestions or needs or concerns please bring those with you!! We want this support group to be what you need and we can't do that unless you tell us what you need!!!

It is time for our monthly support group meeting!!! Our date this month will be a bit different:
We will be meeting on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 6pm.
We will meet at the same location: Starbucks on Foothill and Rosemead in Pasadena
The address is: 3699 Foothill Bl.  Pasadena, Ca 91107

I will be arriving at Starbucks about 2 hours early to reserve space. Please email me to let me know whether or not you will be attending so I can anticipate how many chairs to save. If you are able to meet me early to help save seats, please let me know.
EMAIL CHANGE:  I may possibly be moving in a few months and needed to change my email. The new email that you can reach me will be:

I was thinking we could discuss how our holidays were and if anyone had any struggles or triumphs!!! We are here to support one another through this great journey!!!!

My Story

July 14, 2008:

Okay so I am learning how to use this new profiler! I am still not sure as to how this new system works so I haven't added anything in a long time. I hope I am in the right section to add new things. I was told my story transferred over and I hope that is true as to it is too long to write it all again!!

I just wanted to share the newest update with me. I am seven months pregnant and expecting a baby boy! This is our first child. Part of the reason I wanted to have Gastric Bypass was to someday be able to get pregnant! Well, It was successful and now one of my dreams is finally going to come true.  I have had a wonderful pregnancy, no morning sickness at all! I am starting to feel a bit uncomfortable at times but nothing major. I am grateful that I haven't had any problems.

My only problem within myself is watching the scale rise in pounds. I know that you must gain weight to have a baby and that it is a natural process but after all the work I have done to lose weight, it really messes with your head to see that scale move in that direction. I have gained approximately 20 pounds so far and that seems to be right on target so I hope losing that won't be a problem.

Just wanted to share a tid bit of information!!
