3-2-04 PASSING FOR THIN...I posted this before, but, this is a FABOLOUS book. I posted it when I bought it, now I finished reading it. Here is an exert that speaks to me and probably many of you. This is about coming so far and losing a lot of weight and re-lapsing. "I have life on the one hand, and food on the other. And food is stronger than I am. Its like I live in a tiny room, like NO EXIT. There's me, and there's food. I can think its me and life-a boy or writing or the office or being thin and wearing cool clothes-but its really always just me and the food. Too much of it or the right food, it doesn't matter. It will always be me and the food before any the other stuff gets in. And it will only get in for awhile. I'll have to eat again and so life has to leave for a little bit while I do that. Or I can eat everything I want and there won't be any room for the other stuff. I needed to see that. I don't know if I get it, but I got a good close look at it". Check out the book, I think, you too will love it. PASSING FOR THIN: LOSING HALF MY WEIGHT AND FINDING MYSELF. (Author Frances Fuffel) ***Another book, I just bought last night, "The Weight of It" (Author: Amy Wilensky)..is about 2 sisters, one obese, the other not. It is written from the point of view of the thin sister as she watches her sister go thru Gastric Bypass and go from 317 to 128.
3-3-04 I saw a NEW Plastic Surgeon this morning down here in Philly, and I loved her - DR FRANCINE CEDRONE! I was scheduled to have a Lower Body Lift with Dr Abramson in NYC on 3-12-04 but have postponed b/c of the 2 Anesthesia related deaths from PS @ Manhattan Ear Nose & Throat. She operates @ Pennsylvania Hospital and
Paoli
Hospital . She has opening on March 10th (next wed), March 22nd, April 16th and May 3rd. She said I need the LBL...not the tt. She also does muscle tightening. Her Surgeons' fee is $9500 and the total is $12,800. Not bad, NYC was $13,600. I am calling back after lunch and scheduling for 3/22. She works in conjunction with 2 Gastric Bypass dtrs @ PA Hospital. Has anyone used her? Her partner is Dr Howard Kaplan (I think their married)...?????
3-8-04 Spent the weekend in NYC. Had a BLAST!!! Cannot wait to move back in a few mos. Saw my angelette, Gabby (GF). She is doing soooo well. Getting so tiny. She looks amazing! Today I had a job interview @ a great Wall Street firm. The interview went well and I think I have a good chance of getting the job. It is amazing how much easier interviewing is when you are
NORMAL sized and feeling as though you won't get the job b/c of your size. I also went and saw Dr Abramson again. THANK GOD I DID!!! He but all my fears to rest. He explained the 2 deaths @ Manhattan Ear Nose & Throat. They were from MAC Anesthesia (twilight) and they were not his patients. he has never had a death (knock on wood) and only had 1 client who needed a blood transfusion. He also agreed to operate on me at Lenox Hill as opposed to Manhattan ENT. That was a relief...He also addressed the issues of my concerns on HOW I will look. He explained that he has done now about 60 RNY patients in the past few years in addition to his regular patients. His experience is that patients who are FURTHER from goal and have not lost all their weight yet, get better results and are happier with their look. That explains my friend who was very unhappy with her outcome. She had lost 170lbs and 2/3 of her body. She has a TON of skin. I on the other hand, do not. I only lost 122lbs and I am shaped very differently. He expects me to lost maybe 12lbs from the PS and also 2-3 sizes. He is also being very flexible and me getting this surgery. I want it in May when I move back to NYC, but, if I were to get this job in NYC now, he is more than willing to fit me in so I can get it done prior to the new job. So, I am gonna go with him. He was my original choice and I know at least a dozen people who have had PS with him. Plus, he was a referral from my surgeon, Dr Leitman. So, I need to figure out the details, but, I think we will move back the last weekend of April and then I will have PS the 2nd week of May.
