8lbs from april goal....
on March 27, 2011 5:13 pm
So i set a goal of wanting to lose 70 lbs and be 300 by April...right now I'm 8 lbs away so I'm pretty sure i wont meet my goal. i keep analyzing everything I've done and what i could have done differently to lose those few pounds. I'm trying to stay positive and tell myself that it was a big goal and that even if i don't reach the 70 by April the 62 that I've lost is a big loss that i should be proud of...

60lbs down!
on March 22, 2011 3:05 pm
so the weight is starting to come off slower but i cant be happier! I'm down 60lbs! that's like losing a child! old clothes that didn't fit now fit perfectly. i can shop in most stores and wear and XXL! i cant wait to be able to go into any store and know they have my size! I'm hoping this summer i can fit on the rides at the theme park here in kc. i love going but haven't been able to go the past few years bc i was so embarrassed by having to squeeze into the rides! i posted new pictures For everyone to see :-) i love comments and feedback!

47lbs down!
on February 19, 2011 3:31 pm
I'm so exited to have already lost 47lbs! I am setting my eyes on my April gaol of 70 lbs! then i want to be down another 50 by the end of summer! to help me reach my goal Ive been using a combination of exercises like my elliptical and low weights. I recently bought Just Dance 2 for the wii and it delivers a serious full body workout! For anyone who is getting bored of their normal routine i highly recommend it!  I am also going to look into a gym with a pool bc i love swimming and in college it helped me slim down a lot

on January 8, 2011 5:09 pm
Starting off i have a few questions is insanely horrible gas normal? i was told it was but man its getting unbareable! Also i noticed after surgery i actually gaine 5 lbs! did this happen to anyone else and is this normal?

surgery went great the doctor said everything looked great and there were no problems during surgery.*whew* i did stay 1 night in the hospital because i have a heart condition i was born with. Let me tell you i am thankful for that one night! now that i am home and just on liquid hydrocodone i want my morphine back!

My Story

I first started noticed my weight when i was about 8. My mom put me in all types of after school activities to try to help me at least maintain my weight. But an unhealthy family life just ed to further weight gain. At the age of 13 i was diagnosed with an enlarged heart valve and had surgery that same year. i was forced to quit any activity that got my heart rate up for years. During that time i ate because i was depressed and my weight continued to rise. when i graduated high school my weight had reached it highest at 320lbs. i told myself i had to lose weight before college so i started working out 6 hours a day and eating nothing. i did get down to 250lbs but i was very sick. i went back up to 300 lbs by the end of college. after graduating college i moved back home with my parents and they enjoy eating out and indulging in rich foods. i joined with them and ballooned up to my highest weight ever of 370lbs. we have tried 4 times to get my surgery covered by insurance by all 4 times we fell short. this last time i had gotten a new job and insurance said they covered surgery. it was September and they required a 6 month diet supervised by a doctor. i started my diet then talked to insurance again and they informed me that even if i did they diet starting in 2011 they were no longer covering surgery. I was crushed. My parents then offered to help me get a loan and help me pay for my surgery. We were luky to find shawnee missions surgical center because malley wanted around 20,000 for a lap band and shawnee mission had a "sale" of only 11,500. i ended up going with the gastric sleeve to increase my chances of reaching my goal weight and so i dont have to get fills for the rest of my life. Surgery is jan 5th and i am excited to start my life!
