I am 8 months post op, I am loving the new me and much more confident about myself. I have alot more energy unfortunately so much I am staying up all night. I have lost down to 201 last time I checked which was about a week ago. I have learned a valuable lesson that until I get close to where I want to be, I shall only buy clothes from the thrift stores because that is about how quickly I am changing sizes. I started out in a 28 and am now in between 16 and 18. I was actually able to loan my mother some clothes of mine while on our cruise in October, we have not shared clothes since I was a senior in high school. So you can imagine how great that feels for me.  I had a coworker of mine that had the surgery a month before me and my other coworkers ( I quit work last June) when they see me wonder why I have lost more weight than the other lady and I have found that she still drinks sodas and she has found that sugar does not bother her. The important thing I have learned is that I will continue to ACT as if it will make me sick, I do not want to even try to eat it, because I don not want to find out that it may not bother me. To me that defeats the whole purpose of the surgery, as my older brother had the suregery about 5 years ago and has gained back about 50 pounds by eating m &m's and drinking regular coke. I will stick to my program minus a coke zero a few times a week, as it is my weekness, and I think I shall do well.

Update

It has been right at about 2 months post op and I have lost 50 lbs. feel great. Eating still seems to be new to me, everything is experimental.  I made chili and found that it did not agree with me, neither does pork or sugar free chocolate. I sometimes forget to think about things that may have sugar until after its too late...(ex. cinnamon twist, sweet n sour chicken). But it has all been worth it, I can tell just because my stomach does not touch my steering wheel when I drive.  It is truly a blessing. Now if I can just get a stinkin picture uploaded I will be good. Every picture I try tells me the file is too big.

After Surgery
on April 17, 2009 6:59 pm
Well, I had my surgery on April 13, 2009 and all went well. I must say I felt like death the first two days. I went home on April 15th. I have been doing good up until I tried potato salad (thinking it is soft potatoes) that was the wrong thing to do. I felt like I was dying as I experienced dumping for the first time that lasted over 4 hours, dry heaving because there was not enough of anything in me to come out. At least I know what that was like and will be way more careful in the future. But already my family can tell a difference therefore it has been all worth it. Good luck to all.

My life currently
on April 8, 2009 12:42 am
I am the one in the lower part of the picture with my BFF, Jamie. I can not seem to get any other of my pics to upload.  I so long to get back to the days of being around 175, which  that was in my teenage years.  There's nothing more I hat than my mother wearing smaller clothes than me. I honestly don't know where the weight comes from, my mother has never had a weight problem and yet me and both my brothers have always been overweight.  My oldest brother had RNY about 4 years ago, before ins had you jumping through hoops.  I was too afraid of the procedure back then but now as I am at my heaviest ever wearing a size 28 and starting to make fat jokes about myself, it is time!!!  After all I have a 17 mos old baby girl who wears me out just chasing her a few hours around the house, when I need to be outdoors with her but am too tired in my lazy boy all day.
